That was not a deer. It looked like one, but it was just wrong. All I knew is that something was watching us. You're literally in squatch territory. If you're reading this, you're already dead. I knew that's the sound you were going to make before you even made it because I've heard it, too. This should be a horror movie. Anyway, cryptids. Yeah, very spooky. Hey, howdy dudy. I slurred my words there. Hallelujah. That's okay. This is two girls, one ghost. Two girls, one ghost. And we are your ghostesses. That is Karen. Hello. I'm Sabrina. And we're here on a rainy Monday afternoon. That's
1:00
when we're recording. To read some haunting encounters to you all beyond just haunting. Something potentially otherworldly. Creeping cryptids. Beasts. We picked stories that you guys sent us where you have encountered things that we would categorize as cryptids. Yes. Unexplained beings. Sometimes I just like get slapped in the face by the fact that we get to do this for our career. Like I literally we literally just whispered weird words about creatures and I just went and we get paid to do it. Anyway,
Lake Cryptid Horror
cryptids. I'm going to read this one from our listener Emma and it is called Unknown Creature Who Tried to Kill Me. Oh, that doesn't sound like a very good encounter. No. And Emma's asking us for help, but I am sorry to say we probably don't have help. Although, Emma, you're not alone. Okay, I'm submitting this because I hope someone may be able to tell me what I saw. I'm now 18, and this
2:00
story took place when I was around 15. On a summer night, me and my friends decided to go to a party at the place called the Cliffs. I live in Iowa, so there's not much to do, but the Cliffs is a hot spot for all teenagers. In order to understand the story deeper, the road to the Cliffs is a windy road, very secluded. The roads are skinny and one wrong move, you would fall down a massive hill. Once you arrive, there's a graveyard. You have to climb down a hill to make it to the lake. And I'm surprised there has not been an incident down there yet. I mean, seriously, I feel like this is the beginning of like a haunting movie about a bunch of teenagers or a book. Yeah. Ya. It takes a while to get to the bottom, and when you make it, the lake is there on the right. Me and my group of friends decided to go swimming and drink a little. When we arrived, two girls I was with decided it was a good idea to run into the graveyard. And at that point, I was pretty pissed because I know you just don't do that. And I later found out that one of them peed in the graveyard, which is so disrespectful. So disrespectful. It's no wonder that something was mad. There was a group of
3:00
us, six of us by the way. Me and the group started climbing down. We drank some beer, got in the water. The first half hour or so was great. We're all happy, having fun, and my friend, let's call her Kay, and two boys decided to stay out of the water on the land. And I started getting this extremely bad feeling like something was going to take my feet and drag me under the water. So, I started swimming towards the shore. When I was about halfway back, my friend Kay starts yelling, "Emma, get out of the water." in the most panicked tone, and I knew something was up. Oh my god. Mind you, we're skinny dipping, so we're all super exposed and nervous. And now all of us are worked up, which is not good when you're trying to swim to shore. We're panicked, thinking maybe a person's watching us. But all I knew is that something was watching us. Everyone got out of the water, which usually it takes around 10 minutes to climb back up the rocks, even more when you're intoxicated. But every single one of us got to the top within 5 minutes. My friend Bee was driving her truck. And before this, three people sat in the bed, but we decided that everyone needed to be inside the cab. Again, you have to
4:00
drive very carefully on this road because, like I said, one wrong move and you'll fall off the road. So, there's one specific turn that no one drives crazy on. But for some reason, my friend just pressed on the gas. We were all so scared. While we were turning, we were all silent looking ahead when a tall figure walks in front of Bee's truck. I'm not sure how to explain it. It wasn't completely black because it was somewhat clear in a way, but it was still so dark it confused me. This thing walked in front of the truck on the most dangerous part of the road. Be slammed on the brakes. We all flew forward and it's a miracle we didn't crash or get ejected from the truck. The truck was at a complete stop, but everyone starts yelling, "Go, go, go." My friend Logan, who was in the front seat, said, "Emma, did you just see that?" And I said, "Yes." It's all I could get out. Everyone else was silent for a couple of moments while we drove at probably 5 mph. Be then stopped the truck for no reason. It was chaos because we just wanted to get out of there. And this
5:00
silence turned into yelling. But for some reason, Bee looked stuck. I'm not sure how to explain it without sounding crazy, but I could genuinely tell that she couldn't step on the gas. And then she rolled down the window. No. While she's doing this, we are all screaming and it felt like a literal horror movie. She snapped out of it and then just pressed on the gas like absolutely nothing happened. And then she started freaking out. I was asking Logan what he saw, and we both described an extremely tall, like 7 feet tall figure, black as night, but at the same time see-through. It was human in a way, but its arms were extremely long. Be stopped again and said, "We have to stop." In a panicked way. She still doesn't know why she stopped, but I found out on the drive back to town that my friends peed in the graveyard, and I knew that they pissed something off. I've never been able to figure out what it was we saw. And I never go to the cliffs at night anymore. I do love the woods and little adventures with my girls, though. But I noticed ever since
6:00
that night when me and my friends are surrounded by woods, I always hear something and now feel like something is watching. It doesn't happen when I'm near the woods, just deep inside of them. Only if I'm in a place where it would take a while for me to get out, that's when I feel something staring. My friend who was there with me still tells me to this day she hears sounds as well. I really am not sure what happened and I would love to find out. So, if you have an idea, let me know. All I know is that it purposely tried to make us crash on the most dangerous turn and for some reason my friend Bee was extremely drawn to it. Thank you so much for having the space where we can say these things with no judgment. I'm a new follower and currently binging all of your videos. Emma, I just don't even know. This really reminds me of a movie I recently watched with L. Fanning. And let me see if I can find the title, but it's about like a certain area of woods where a lot of people go missing and disappear and L. Fanning goes into the woods. Oh. Oh. I meant to watch this one. It's a horror movie, right? Yeah. It's called The Watchers. It's Dakota Fanning. It's very
7:00
much about changelings and fairies, but it's interesting. It's these entities in the woods who are always watching and when the sun goes down, they are out and about. So, they like hide in this like bunker thing because that's the only place that the entities can't get them. Yeah. When you were reading the story too, it makes me realize that there's I feel like on so many of our episodes, people will comment and talk about the different like spirits of the forest and we just don't know much about it cuz we haven't ever like covered or gone into some of these gone into the woods. Gone into the woods. But no. Yeah, that makes sense. And what better group to pray upon? Yeah. scared out in the water. The way that it had a mental control of Bee who was driving, that's freaky. Imagine watching Bee, who kind of like looks a little like lifeless, start rolling down her windows. The panic that everyone had to feel in that car because you're completely out of control. It feels like your entire chance at safety is in the
8:00
hands of the driver in that moment. And if they panic or if they become suddenly possessed or mind controlled, you're screwed. You're screwed. There's a split-second decision could be the difference between life and death. I'm also curious what they saw in the water that made the friends yell, "Emma, get out of the water." Because Emma said she felt like something was watching her and felt like she was going to get pulled under. So that's why she started swimming to shore and then her friends started screaming. So what did they see? Dark out there, too. Like Yeah. Was there just a shadow kind of lurking? Should be a horror movie. It totally could be. Also, sorry Emma, we don't know what that is, but Yeah. In fact, we have almost no idea. Yeah, but I agree that something was pissed off. Yeah, it is interesting and I guess you kind of alluded to this with the Dakota Fanning movie and these things that are like always in the woods watching, but it is interesting that before this experience, they could just go into the woods and have a good time and then after this experience, anytime they're deep in the woods, Yeah. Emma feels the presence. I wonder if you could go back to that cemetery and apologize on behalf of your
9:00
friends. Mhm. Would that change anything? Or is it just like a bad series of events and it has nothing to do with what happened in the woods, right? Like it could have just been a weird entity that was lurking. Was it a full moon? Was it an eclipse? Was it You never know what was said in the excited shrieks and squeals as you start streaking and run into the cold water. Yeah. I don't know if anyone else has
National Park Cryptids
answers. Email us. Okay. This is called I worked at a national park and spooky stuff happened there. Cool. Hi, my name is Haley. I've got a few fun stories for y'all and I'm writing this on Halloween. He spooky, spooky, scary, happy Halloween. Haley said, "I'm writing this on Halloween, but didn't send it until almost the end of December." It's okay. Sometimes the draft start it. Yeah. Start the draft. Add your stories in. Send it when you feel comfortable. Yeah. Or until we berate you on the podcast and tell you that we're shaming you for not emailing us. Right. Shame, shame, shame. It's such a shame we haven't read your story. Yeah. I've got
10:00
a few fun stories for y'all. And I'm writing this on Halloween. and he he spooky. Also, can I just say that you guys have helped me to embrace my weird girlness, so thank you. I love that. I love talking about ghosts and cryptids and all weird things, but I definitely used to pretend that I didn't because I didn't want people to think I was crazy or I wore a tin foil hat, but now I don't care anymore. And I love asking people for ghost stories since they've seen Bigfoot. People are so full of stories and I love to tell them. It's amazing. At my last few jobs, I was the resident crypted and ghost expert, and I eat that up. So, thank you guys for normalizing being a weird girl. I love it. Fitting in isn't cool anymore. Be individual. But also, I almost feel like it's one of those things where like it takes someone saying a weird comment for everyone else to be like, "Oh my god, I feel that, too." Right. Right. Right. Cuz that's how we collect so many ghost stories. Like the people that you would never expect to have a ghost story often have some of the wildest ones. Ask your boss. Ask your boss's boss. Ask the stranger who's walking their dog on
11:00
the street. Do you see dead people? Knock on your neighbor's doors with a fully black contacts in and say, "May I use your telegraph? And do you have ghost stories?" It works 100% of the time. Maybe they'll email us and say that a blackeyed kid knocked on their door. And then when you get arrested, ask the police officer, "Do you see dead people?" And then when they bring you to the hospital, ask the hospital staff, "Do you see dead people?" Just keep asking until you're in a straight jacket. You'll you'll get an answer eventually. Okay, starting off strong. I'm going to talk about my most recent crypted encounter. Some background info. I worked at a national park this past summer. It was one in South Dakota with a cave and bison, if you can figure out which one. I'm not wellversed in my South Dakota caves. I know. This feels like a phone a friend Cassie Daniel situation. Yeah, the park has a cave, a lot of prairie, almost too much if you ask me, and forests. I lived in housing in the park along with maybe 20 other
12:00
seasonal employees. I was very familiar with the wildlife, the bison, elk, mule, deer, prairie dogs, etc. of the park at this point. And I'd been working there for 5 months already. I knew the park very well. I'd even taken walks in total darkness. Seriously, this park has no lights. That's brave. I did this at night by myself and I felt fine. One day I was driving home from a day out with my friend in the passenger seat. And as I've said this before, the park has no lights and it was night and the only light was coming from my car's headlights. I drove into the park and passed the visitors center like I always do. Only this time something was wrong. I looked to the left out of my driver's side window and I saw legs. Really long legs. My friend and I saw it at the same time and I immediately started freaking out. It was a deer, but it was not a deer. A not deer. It was gi like scientifically impossible for it to be this large. Its legs were so long. I
13:00
didn't even see its head. Imagine regular white-tailed deer legs but stacked on top of each other. That is what I saw. This thing was also maybe 10 ft away from my car. It was way too close for comfort. There were probably three or four other deer behind this thing that were completely normal. Time slowed down at this moment. It had regular deer following it. Yeah. We've never heard a version of the story like that, right? Cuz normally they're completely alone. Yeah. Just eating roadkill carcasses. Yeah. Yeah. Time slowed down at this moment and I got such an intense feeling of dread. All of my hair stood up and I got full body chills. I started repeatedly saying, "I don't like this. I don't like this. I don't like this." to my friend and freaking him out even more. Sorry to my friend. And as I was driving away, we were fully freaked out and I had to keep asking him if he really saw that, too. He said he saw the exact same thing and said that was not a deer. It looked like one, but it was just wrong. Keep in
14:00
mind, we both worked in biology, so we knew what deer looked like. He saw its face, and he said that it looked like a white-tailed deer head, but the body wasn't right. Thankfully, our housing was about a one minute drive away. And we decided to stop talking about it and just go to bed. I tossed and I turned the whole night. Every time I woke up, I just thought of those abnormally long legs and the feeling that it gave me. I know my cryptids. And I immediately thought about the knot, dear. Yeah. I looked it up the next day on Google and my stomach sank. The picture of this creature, it had the same exact horrific legs. My friend and I still talk about this. I think it brings me peace of mind that someone else saw it, too. It makes me feel less crazy. The park has thousands of deer, and after this, I felt icky even seeing one. Also, this park has a lot of ghost stories. One of the scientists at the park keeps a Google doc of ghost stories from employees and cave explorers. See, ask everyone. Ask everybody. My friend knows what a freak I am, and she sent this
15:00
Google doc to me. Some of them are so freaky. Oh my god. Can we get it? We won't share it with anyone. We just want it. Yeah. For our own reading pleasure. Some of them are so freaky. I'm honestly shocked I didn't have more experiences here. Let me tell you that cave is for sure haunted. Holy So, one more quick story. I'm from Kentucky and I grew up as a weird kid, like watching ghosts and Bigfoot shows since I was five. You know, weird. And I even met Ghost Hunters, the Taps, if you're familiar, at Waverly Hills. It's right by my house. I met them when I was eight. Anyway, I have believed in the paranormal and it's been a canon event to me for as long as I can remember. I had experienced a lot of weird things. Shadows out of the corner of my eye, but my brain would always reason all of these things away. However, I had one experience that completely solidified my belief in the paranormal. A few years ago, my grandma passed away. I was at a funeral home and stepped away for a few minutes to go to the bathroom. As I was about to exit the bathroom stall, I heard my name. It was so clear and it was loud like someone was right there. I walked out of the stall and again, so
16:00
clearly, someone said, "Haley." Oh. At this point, it was obvious that I was not hearing things. I looked in the stalls. There were only two in this bathroom and they were empty. It was a small bathroom and I could see everything and nobody else was in there. H they opened the door. I looked around and nobody was outside. This bathroom was in a private hallway where it was quiet and it was secluded. I was freaked out but not scared. The voice was oddly comforting. I didn't recognize it and it wasn't the voice of my grandma. I walked back to the little lobby and it took a little while to collect myself. I couldn't bring myself to even talk about it for months. There's no explanation for this occurrence and it just completely solidified my belief in the paranormal. Oh, and I also have a Bigfoot encounter if you're interested in hearing it. yeah. You have to send the Bigfoot Encounter and please your Google Doc access to all those stories from the cave. Also, my current job working in the Appalachian Mountains. Haley. And then Haley writes, "Fingers crossed some spooky happenings
17:00
happen soon." Fingers crossed for you that there spooky happenings that you witness but don't get traumatized from. Yeah. Jeez. Have we done an episode on not dear yet? I don't know. Cuz we know about them and we've heard about them so often. And I feel like the encounters with the not dear recently we've been getting so many emails and reading. We haven't done one. We should because it might be one of those things like when we did Windy Boys where, you know, we had like five or six years of talking about this entity without the knowledge of like what it actually was until we covered it and then was like, "Oh my gosh, this changes everything." Everything. Okay. Well, maybe we'll do that. Stay tuned. Or if we've already done it, tell us. Maybe we'll just do it again. I was thinking it'd be fun to do like a revisit our favorite stories because there's one I did, I think, for a live show that I think about all the time. Which one? I remember like little details, but I don't remember the whole thing. There was the invention of refrigeration for bodies, like for body
18:00
preservation, and then there's like a fun bar. It's a bunch of different like elements. I want you to revisit Zona Histers Shoe. I love that story. That's such a good one. You should do that one again. The Green Brier Ghost, the ghost who solved her own murder from beyond the grave. That's a good one. There's so many. Plus, now we have video, which is
Ccary messages, Not-Deer and Mystery Cryptid
so different, right? Right. Cuz then we can include photos and stuff in the video. Exactly. I have a story about deer man or not dear. Wow. And it also has a photo which we'll show in YouTube. This is called dear man. Photo of ghost or just a spooky scene created by friends. This is from our listener Sydney she her. In encounters 160. You talk about a story where the storyteller's father and uncle walk across a bridge and spot what we all think might be dear man. I have never heard of this thing before until it was mentioned on your podcast. People I've told my story to still think that we hallucinated or just imagined this dear not dear entity. No, it is so hard to explain to someone who's never seen it, but that's just a small tidbit in this
19:00
whole story. So, let's get into it. When I was in my high school years, there were a couple of friends that enjoyed going on midnight adventures to do some paranormal investigating. One particular friend that was just as into the paranormal as me was named Wyatt. After all, that boy did live in a formal funeral home, which I'm sure he has a ton of stories. Why? And I would constantly find new places to go adventure just to see what spooky things we could find. In our hometown, there were a plethora of haunted homes and fullon haunted towns, all within a 2-hour radius. So, it's safe to say we were out investigating at least once a week. One night, one of Wyatt's friends, Jasmine, said she knew of a house where, content warning of death. The father of the house brutally murdered his two daughters and wife, took their bodies out to the barn, and then took his own life in the barn. So, I get a call saying there's a new house we haven't been to yet, and it's set to be demolished a couple weeks down the road. So, obviously, we had to go immediately.
20:00
It was right before midnight, maybe 11:45, when Wyatt, Jasmine, and this driver, Michael, came to my house. I ran outside and we get on our way. It took about 30 minutes to get there. So, the whole time we're there, we're praying, blessing ourselves, preparing ourselves for whatever dark energies were left behind. When we pull up, we're on a gravel road. The forest is on the left side, and the house is on the right. This gravel road isn't one of those small, skinny ones. It's quite wide, honestly. wide enough for three cars to be parked beside each other with still some wiggle room. This weirdly specific description is necessary for later. The entrance to this property had two metal poles with a chain dangling in between them that read no trespassing. The way the sign was hung was like to stop a semi-truck. The sign hung at the same height as my face, 5' 5 in. So obviously when we all get out of the car to go onto the property, we duck underneath it. We start walking around outside getting a feel for the property. There was a barn, a house, and a massive yard space that led to a lake behind it. During our walk around, it's very clear
21:00
that other people have been here, too. There are beer cans in the yard, graffiti all over the house, windows broken, but the barn completely untouched. It felt like everyone around the town knew what happened here and could feel the evil in the barn. Well, whatever. Let's put that out of our head now because I want to see what is inside the house. We walk in and instantly on the floor, I notice bootprints in red paint. I hope with paint at least. These bootprints are walking around the house, goes upstairs. Some sets of prints go out the back door into the bathroom, but none of them go into the basement. The same red paint. Someone took three fingers and wrote a message on the wall. The message said, "You're next, Sydney." Obviously, I start to panic a tad because that is my name spelled the exact same way in a place that I didn't know of until the last minute. This feels like it, doesn't it? Mhm. Not to mention that this paint, the boots, and the writing seemed fresh, like it was still wet. But that didn't stop me. We had to explore the rest of the house,
22:00
obviously. Upstairs was a trap house of sorts. Needles, a bed, all the nasties. In my mind, it's time to go explore the basement. But as I approach the staircase going down, Wyatt yells, "I am not going down there." And then Michael follows with, "Yeah, no, absolutely not." I then look to Jasmine with a kind of like, "Are you going to back out?" look too. And she instantly saw my face and said, "I'll come down with you for your comfort, but I'm not leaving the staircase." Which made me a bit hesitant, but I don't care. I have a basement to explore. I feel like Sydney is me in this situation. Like, what the hell? So, Jasmine and I go down. Both haven't even stepped a foot off the staircase yet, and Jasmine grabs my arm right when I'm about to reach the bottom, and she says, "I don't think I can." She turned on so fast and ran back up the stairs, which was weird for me. Jasmine and Wyatt had come investigating with me so many times. Neither of them have ever been the type to back out of something. Oh, you're down. No lights. I used my flashlight to get the feel of the room. It's all concrete, the floors, the walls, just one big empty room,
23:00
except for two things. There's a bookshelf in the corner opposite the staircase, so I'm staring right at it as I come down the stairs. It's empty, 7 to 8 ft tall and 4 ft wide. In the same corner on the other side of the wall is a hole floor to ceiling with a 2-in gap before the ceiling. I see this and I instantly think, hm, why and how is there a massive hole in a concrete wall? As I approach, I realize it's not a hole, it's a tunnel. I shine my flashlight and nothing. I can't even see the end. Just a big dark dirt tunnel. Round, but not like it was made from a machine, like a shovel. I could see the imperfections. This reminds me of Barbarian. Yeah, it's it. It's Haunting of Hill House. It's Barbarian. It's Run. Get the out of here. Yeah. As I'm shining the flashlight down the tunnel, I notice that there's writing on that 2-in gap on the concrete in between the ceiling and the tunnel. It reads, "If you're reading this, you're already dead." And I think this is clearly just vandals on the property. It's written in
24:00
black spray paint. It can't be serious. Well, everyone upstairs starts shouting at me, asking if I'm okay. You good? And I say exactly what I'm seeing in the emptiness of the concrete room, the bookshelf, the tunnel, and how there's a small amount of writing down there. When Wyatt asks me to read it out loud, so I do. If you're reading this, your bam, the bookshelf right beside me tips over, falling towards me. If I didn't feel the slight gust of wind from the falling, I would have been crushed. Oh my god. I frantically ran up the stairs and out back door of the house without saying a word, and everyone else ran out after me. Once outside, I just burst into tears. Wyatt knew someone or something was down there ever since we walked into the house, but he couldn't get a feel for the energy. Not good nor bad. It was just there, which is kind of scarier. so scary. He tried calming me down, saying that the presence just wanted to keep me safe and keep me out of the tunnel, which I accepted, but I knew I didn't have any thoughts to go into the tunnel, so that didn't really feel right. We calm down and decide that was enough of the house and to go over to the barn. Instantly, there's a different energy in the barn. Heavy, like the air was
25:00
thicker. Michael, at this point, said he couldn't keep up with us, so he asked Wyatt to walk him to the car. Jasmine and I get to the barn. Nothing seems super off. tools were still there, a tractor, a couple workbenches, and paint or, I don't know, maybe blood stains. In the back far corner of the barn, there were some sticks and string tied up to make a ladder, which went up to the roof. A roof that in the entire barn is completely covered by seamless plywood pieces with no openings to imply there's an upper area, except for where the ladder is. Once Wyatt rejoined the two of us, we all had a bit of a discussion and it was decided that only one person can go on the ladder at a time without breaking it and only one person small enough to get into the hole of the roof. That person, me. The fact that this is even continuing, but you guys are still investigating. I mean, this seems like a normal day. I climb up and see a whole storage area. Boxes, furniture, more boxes, just so many things covering the entire area. Wyatt asked what I was seeing and I couldn't really process that. So, I took a photo to show them and it was completely black. Even with
26:00
the flash on, nothing was showing up in the photo. So, I asked Jasmine to get one of the boys phones so I could use their flashlight to get a better photo. Wyatt and Jasmine walk back to the car to get Michael's phone, leaving me completely alone. Why not split up or or like I don't know, go with them. Don't go in the hole yet. Complete silence. A good moment for me to process everything. I can make out an upside down desk. Nothing underneath it. A door. A big wooden door stacked on top of everything. A road sign. Paper. Either way, I'm distracted at this point when Jasmine yanks on my pant legs to pass me the phone. I light up the flashes. Have a good look at the room. I get out my phone, open the camera app, flash goes off, and bam. That same desk, the one that was already flipped upside down with nothing under it, flipped across the entire space, which there is literally no way for that to have happened. I don't even think I went down the ladder. I jumped. We ran. Ducked the chain. no trespassing sign. We got in the car. Michael was confused, frantically looking back at us, questioning what happened. Wyatt starts saying, "I just saw Cindy." When Wyatt and I look toward the two of them at the
27:00
front seats, when all of a sudden, we see something leaping over the chain that was saying no trespassing, which is 5 and 1/2 ft tall, and over the entire road in one jump. This creature had a long deer-like body and was dripping in blood. Legs that looked the same length of the body itself with knees that sat bent backwards. A head that we thought was a rabbit with droopy long ears and horns, but a face of a man. This thing leapt across the road in front of us into the forest and then gone out of our sight. We sped out of there. And I don't remember anything in between seeing that creature getting home, but I was the first to be dropped off. So, I assumed my mind was just blank because I was in shock or our drive was uninteresting. When they dropped me off and I got in the door, it was 7:40 a.m. That entire experience should have only taken 2 to 3 hours max. 1 and 1/2 hour drive times 2. What felt like only an hour or maybe an hour and a half of exploring the
28:00
property? So, did we lose time? What did we see? Was it a not dear? Was it a demonic reincarnation of the man that lived there? Weeks later, I'm telling this story to a friend when she asks, "Where's the picture?" And I pull it up and to my surprise, it is still dark. So I send it to her and she edits it, she comes to me and says, "I thought you said there was a desk and it was empty underneath, but there's definitely something there." When I was standing there observing the area, this desk had nothing under it. I looked at the photo and my heart dropped to my stomach. I don't know what this is. It doesn't look the same as what chased us out, but the desk flipped over when I took the photo, which makes me think that whatever it was is not happy or wanted me to know it was there. Either way, I have never let the story die, and I continue to change people's lives and believes on spirits and beings that share this world with us while I tell this story. Here are the things that I think when I see this photo. An alien, an owl, a little girl, or a lizard. Sorry the story was so long. Hope to hear it on the podcast one day. I love you and I will see you on the other side, Sydney. It also kind of looks like a raccoon. Okay, I'm going to
29:00
pull it up. Or a possum. It kind of also looks like a platypus. It's just so bizarre because it's like there's this large creature bounding from the house and yet when they were in there they saw nothing and something had the power whether it be like physically cloaking itself and moving these things or just like mentally shifting energy and manipulating objects. Jeez, I I don't know. Okay, let me pull up the picture. So, there's two photos. One has it circled and so this photo was also like edited in the sense that it was like lightened so that you could see more things in it. Doesn't it kind of look like a platypus? No way. Do you want to know what it actually looks like to me? No. It looks like a squon. It looks creepier than a squonk. It looks like a hairless little piggy. Kind of looks like an armadillo. Yeah, it does look like an armadillo. It could have been an animal. But if it is a raccoon and a flash was used, wouldn't the eyes have lit up? Cuz the eyes look open. Weird. It could also be a really creepy demonic entity with a big nose
30:00
like kind of hiding like this, like crouching. Yeah. I don't know. Yeah, that's the thing cuz also the description of it moving away. I was like, this does kind of seem a little bit Luciferlike. Mhm. It's hard to understand the behaviors of a crypted or like some mystery being. But I'm like, how bizarre is it that it's like taunting and saying, "Sydney, you're next." flipping things up and down and being this like scary scary creature and then all of a sudden like running away and jumping the fence. Well, Sydney said it the entity in the photo looks so different from what they saw. Mhm. It just seems like there's a lot happening in this place and if there were all the needles upstairs and stuff, you know, like there's people probably spent some of their darkest moments of their life in there. True. So, a lot of Yeah, there's already something dark that happened here. Plus, now all the energy of people like vandalizing, doing who knows what there, having parties there. It's in the middle of the woods. I don't know. It's so creepy. It's so creepy. I want to know more about your other adventures, though, cuz clearly you did
31:00
a lot of ghost hunting as a kid. And you're so brave. What the heck? I would have called it quits. So, there were so many moments that I would have been hightailing it out of there. Like it's so easy for me to act brave when we're talking about things, but when we're in actual investigations, I often ask for someone to accompany me. Like I wouldn't go somewhere by myself. I wouldn't sit in a room by myself in the dark. Right. No. And I certainly wouldn't crawl into a small space that only I was able to get in and out of cuz then like what if something happens to you? No one can retrieve you. Also up a rope ladder. It's not easy to get down, right? Sydney, you and after you've already been marked as the one that's going to
Bigfoot on the Bike Trail
be harmed. Sydney, are you okay? Well, we're glad that you lived to tell the tale. Yeah. Okay. I have a story called Something Was With Me in the Woods That Day. This is from Becca. Okay. Hi, Ghostes. Longtime listener, first- time caller. My name is Becca and I wanted to share with you an encounter I had in the Oregon wilderness on my mountain bike. I'm a 36-year-old female and I love spending time alone in the
32:00
outdoors. Even though this encounter rattled me, I haven't let it stop me from continuing to explore solo in the woods. But now I just pay better attention to when the woods go silent and the hair on the back of my neck stands up. I feel like everyone whose stories we read in this email would be really good friends but like a horrifying group to befriend. Like if they all were friends and you joined them, you would get into something really scary, right? I would probably end up being like, I'm just staying in the car. I'm not even going to go out with you guys. Yeah. Like you all get yourselves into trouble, right? But also what a great paranormal investigation group. Yeah, everyone's so brave. Okay, here we go. It was Memorial Day weekend 2021. We were deep in the throws of the pandemic and like so many people, I had taken my activities outside. For me, that meant mountain biking. Hours and hours of it, out in the stunning wilderness of Oregon, where I live. Wow. That summer, I rode almost exclusively alone. And I love being alone in the woods. There's a peace and a clarity that I find out there that nothing else
33:00
compares to. M of course there are people who say it's not safe for a woman to be alone in the woods and I hate that stereotype but at the same time I know the world we live in and I do take my precautions. Still the solitude of being out there away from everything is worth it. That morning I woke up early full of anticipation. I grabbed a coffee and a breakfast burrito from a local spot. I loaded up my gear and I drove out to one of my favorite trail heads. This trail head isn't exactly easy to find. You have to take a series of dusty, winding, forest service roads to get there, and it's kind of a place where if you don't know where you're going, you're probably not going to stumble upon it by accident. When I arrived, mine was the only car there. The sun was just starting to climb into the sky, and you could feel it was going to be one of those golden summer days. Warm, bright, full of promise. I parked. I unwrapped my burrito. I ate it in the quiet stillness of the trail head. The kind of stillness that makes you feel like the whole world is holding its breath. After gearing up, I hopped on my bike and I started the climb. Now, this trail head
34:00
is a workout. It's uphill all the way at first, but I don't mind that. I actually love it. It's a whole other bravery. I know, right? And after taking down a burrito, the exertion, the steady rhythm of pedaling, the sound of my tires crunching over dirt and rocks. It's meditative. Plus, the payoff on the way down is always worth it. As I climbed higher, I watched the landscape around me transform. The dry, high desert pine trees started giving way to lush alpine forests. The forest floor, once scattered with sage brush, became carpeted with thick manzanita bushes. The air cooled as I gained altitude, and the light filtering through the trees turned softer, almost golden. This sounds beautiful. I'd been riding for about 2 and 1/2 hours, lost in my own thoughts, when I realized just how far out I was. I hadn't seen another soul the entire time. That's when the tingling sensation started at the back of my neck. The awareness that I was really out there. No cell service, no easy way back if something went wrong. I stopped for a break, taking a long drink
35:00
of water and looking around. The quiet was almost overwhelming. No birds, no bugs, no rustling of small creatures in the underbrush, just silence. It was the kind of quiet that makes the hair on your arm stand up like the forest itself is holding its breath now. And then from up ahead on the trail, I heard it. A deep guttural sound. Three grunts. Uh uh uh. Bigfoot. It froze me in place. The sound was low, resonant, and nothing like I'd ever heard before. It wasn't a bear. Wasn't a cougar. The closest comparison I could make, and I know this sounds ridiculous, is a silverback gorilla. I had a bell on my bike, so I rang it. Three quick chimes. The sound echoing through the trees, and then it responded. Three more grunts. My brain was scrambling, trying to process what was happening. Was this a conversation? I rang the bell again, three times, and then again. It answered deep, guttural, unrelenting. I was stuck
36:00
in this bizarre call and response loop, my heart pounding in my chest. And then to my left, I heard something moving, something big. The sound of manzanita bushes snapping and rustling as whatever it was started charging towards me. I did not wait to find out what it was. Instinct took over. I turned my bike around so fast, I nearly lost control, and I started bombing down the trail. I rode like my life depended on it. The trail was narrow. It was winding with roots and rocks threatening to trip me up at every turn. But I didn't dare slow down, I didn't even look back. I rode faster than I'd ever ridden before. My tires kicking up so much dirt and gravel as I tore down the mountain. And my only thought was to get to my car, to get back to safety, to get anywhere but there. When I finally reached the bottom, I didn't stop pedaling until I literally reached my car. Only then did I let myself breathe, replaying the events in my head. My logical brain was so desperate to dismiss what had happened. But my gut told me a different story. When I got home, I spent hours online listening to recordings of animal sounds, trying to match the noise that
37:00
I'd heard. I grew up in the outdoors, camping, hiking, being around wildlife, and I have never heard anything like it before. A week or two later, I was biking again, this time with a friend. As we rode up, I decided to tell her what had happened. When I got the same area, I'm so curious. I know. When I got to the part of the story about the noise, she stopped her bike, turned to look at me, her face serious. "I knew that's the sound you were going to make before you even made it," she said, "because I've heard it, too." She went on to tell me about a time that she and her husband were hiking in that same general area. They'd stopped for a break when they heard the exact same sound. She said they packed up immediately and headed back down the trail, too unnerved to continue. Like me, she and her husband are seasoned outdoors people, and like me, she could not explain what they'd heard. To this day, I don't know what it is. I've ridden that trail many times since, and I've never had any other experience like it. But whatever it was out there with me that day, I'm just glad I didn't have to find out. Becca, you were talking to Bigfoot.
38:00
You're literally in squatch territory, Oregon, deep in the mountains, up high in elevation, with no one else around. Yeah. I don't like that it chased you, right? But that makes sense though because if it's, you know, trying to be territorial and give you some warnings, you know, you're lucky it didn't throw a rock at you. But if it's giving you warning shots and you're doing it right back, then it's you might have been unknowingly communicating that you're gearing up for a challenge that this is a territorial dispute about to happen with a Bigfoot. I'm speechless. Thank God Becca was on a bike. Imagine if Becca was just hiking and had to go. My friend was hiking. I know, but they turned around immediately. There was no like potential accidental taunting. Jeez. Um, Becca, there was a group of men that were like hunters and outdoorsmen who would all go to this one place in the Sierra Mountains in California and would record these strange sounds that they would hear and they'd hide in this like hollowedout tree forge that they had created for themselves whenever they'd hear it cuz
39:00
it was so scary. And I wonder if you hear that recording if you'd finally find the creature that makes that sound, which is they're assuming a Bigfoot. That's our job. I mean, whatever it was, it's scary. And I'm glad that you are okay and live to tell the tale and that you're brave enough or batshit crazy enough to keep doing this. My god. Damn. These stories kind of creeped me out more than I think a typical crypted story or email encounter has. Yeah. Somehow we ended up with ones that involve finding yourself in a situation that's not easy to get out of. An entities chasing you or being massive and leaping in bounds that is inhuman. I wish people had encountered the squonk and we could do a squonk encounters episode
40:00
because if you haven't listened to episode three 313 313 which is our part three of the appalacha series that we did all about cryptids and Krin did a terrifying one the raven mocker and I did the squonk who's the cutest saddest crypted creature ever. Wow. Okay. Well, if you know what the heck the thing that
paranormal investigation of the TGOG Studio
our listener saw, if you have answers for Emma, answers for Emma, but also answers for Sydney, who saw this sort of like dear creature man. Answers for us all. He might be like, "Why are they wearing different clothes? Because we have something we need to do." You know, some people have good influences in their lives, some people have bad influences. And I'm not really sure which one you're being right now. I'm a curious influence that the curious influence. that needs to know more and is going to pry and pick specifically about the haunted office that we record in every day because there's just been a lot happening in
41:00
here. We've experienced a couple things while recording and then you talked about this briefly on episode 317, the curse of the Iceman, about how Noah, where was Noah looking? Okay, so we'll give we'll give a couple like quick hits of what's been happening in this office. So, this this office space is actually like a unique part of my house, too, because it's the only room. Well, as you know, cuz we're freezing always and have a space heater. It doesn't have any foundation, even though I'm charged taxes on it. Um, it's it's built on top of a rock. Oh. So, it's like basically a sun room almost. And before like we even created the studio in here, I was standing in here and dirt materialized out of literally thin air and just poured on top of my not on top of my head. like fell like basically on me like on my chest and on my feet and I was like what the This is so weird. So weird. There was a lot of other weird things happening in the house but like specifically in this room that happened and then as we've been recording there's been a lot of weird noises that we keep hearing up high. We
42:00
have a bunch of like dried flowers hanging up here. Some different teas and crystals. And anytime someone sends us like a sage stick or cedar stick or anything like that, we put it in this jar up here. So, we have a bunch of items that are like apothecary style items and we often hear stuff up here and it almost sounds like something's popping or cracking like glass is breaking, but nothing has ever broken. No. And we've stood up here too like we're we stand on these chairs and we like look back when it happens. We're like, "What is happening? We can't find anything." And then the other day, uh, Noah was in here and got so scared like beyond anything I could have ever seen him be scared at. and he was looking basically exactly where Raggedy Andy is. But he has interacted with Raggedy Andy many times. He even had interacted with him that day. So he's not scared of Raggedy Andy. But there was something like right here that freaked him out. So then I stood at the threshold of these double doors, these French doors, and I said, "You cannot scare the baby or your unborrowed time." But after telling you
43:00
this, you were like, "Would you be open to actually doing ghost tube?" So, we're curious because it definitely scared Noah, but we've I've never personally gotten like bad energy in this office while recording. No. Or in your house at all. Even with the dirt falling on me, I didn't feel negative about it. Even though I was like, "This feels like it could be demonic, right?" Like, right? Like, you're about to be buried in the ground, lady. No. No. But it hasn't felt bad, but clearly something really startled Noah. And there's something in here. So, we're going to use Ghost Tube, which is an app that you can download on your phone. We have used this app in every paranormal investigation we've done from the Lizzie Bordon house. We did not use it at the Conjuring House, but the Lizzie Bordon house, the SK Pierce house, Henry Derby house now multiple times. And every time we've used it, it has like been so accurate. If you've watched any of our live investigations on YouTube, I've used it in a cemetery. I've used it in my basement of my house and it's so accurate. It responds so specifically. Like we were in the Lizzy Bordon house
44:00
and it was kind of talking about shoulder or head and it was like in the room where Andrew had been murdered and then when we went up to the third floor which is known to be haunted by children it was all words that children would say like snake toys are play. Yeah. Yeah. Normally you'd look at an app and you'd be like it's an app. There's code there's programming. there's some developer who's sitting behind this thing typing in a bunch of keywords and phrases to pop out whenever, right? It has proved to us time and time again that it doesn't feel like just code because sometimes it's extremely active and it is very specific to a space and other times we'll be talking for 10 minutes and there's not a single word that comes through the app. Well, this is also so I mentioned this on campfire stories, I believe, but I was in my house and we know that there are spirits in the house, but I like very much like was like I don't want to really communicate with anyone. If I want to communicate with anyone, in my head, I thought my grandmother. I didn't really say anything out loud. And I opened Ghost Tube and it was quiet for like
45:00
five minutes. The first word it said was grandmother and blessed. Five minutes. And then it was silent again. Yeah. So crazy. We're going to utilize Ghost Tube so it films as well. So I'll have the filming part and we can put it into the YouTube video. Okay. I'm also going to grab just like a little candle really quick and we can set intentions because Yes, we absolutely should. I agree with that. The investigation ends at the threshold of those doors. Yes. Whoever's in here. Yes. You cannot enter the rest of my home. Go get your candle. It's just this little this little nub. The nub has been lit. So we're going to set intentions. if you're watching and would like to set intentions of your own, we always encourage you to do that. Would you like to set them since this is your house and it's your boundaries? Sure. Okay. I completely believe in the paranormal. I believe in you. If you want to communicate something or you feel that there's something that I can help you with. Sabrina and I are here to listen. However, this is my house and the room
46:00
that we are currently in the office. We can consider shared space so long as you are here with positive intentions that you come with love and light and no intent to harm or scare me, my family members, Sabrina, anyone who comes in here, especially my child, then you are welcome to stay in this specific room. If all of those conditions are true for you, we are about to use an app called Ghost Tube. uh you can speak uh and utilize it to tell us whatever message you'd like and then we are going to when the candle blows out we are closing the line of communication for now. Yes. All right. Are there any spirits here? Is there something on the bookshelf that's bothering you? Hopefully. The electromagnetic field is up right now. Also, if we're built on stone, like that's also interesting. Yeah, it's the only room. Do you like the crystals? It's a hard time library.
47:00
We're at the bookshelf. The library. Yeah. That it's a hard time. Are you talking about how Karin's been going through a hard time? Are you here to watch over her and help her? Do you know who threw dirt on me? I hear something back there. Do you hear it? It's on the shelf. No, I don't hear it. Wait, listen. literally right behind me. Come here. Seance. Well, I mean, sort of. What's your name? Oh, I'm Karen. I'm Sabrina. And this is two girls, one ghost. Two girls. This is the library. The bookshelf. It stopped the second you came over here. What the heck? It sounded like a little It kind of just sounds like a vibration on the bookshelf. H. You were bringing up the library. Is there something on the library wall on this bookshelf that you would like us to notice? Is there an
48:00
antique in here that you feel attached to? Are you here for Karen? Are you our friend? I'm getting a feeling that it's just trying to respect you. Like it heard your boundaries when you set them after whatever it is scared Noah. Okay. free form answer. Not a yes, no direct. Yeah. Do you What do you want to say? Magic. It's not easy. Oh, it's not easy. I know. It is hard to communicate. I'm trying to think if there's a better way. Would you rather us use the pendulum and and ask you yes no questions? Do you want to try that? Well, it didn't say yes. I know, but if it's saying it's not easy, do you stay in this room? So quiet. Have you encountered the spirit who looks like me or might be me? I think it is you. It's a shadow that you have to collect when you do your shadow work. Get my my chipped off self. Have you encountered Bird's dragons when she sent them here? What if it is one of
49:00
Bird's dragons? He was like, "Shit, Birdie didn't tell me to come here yet. I'm still now I'm in trouble." Yeah. Oops. What did it say at the very We commanded. Who is that? Who is what? Who? Yeah. Who's who? I'm Sabrina. I'm Karen. Birdie is one of our listeners. Oh, yeah. And her dragons who's beside this is Andy. Is there anything specific you would like to share with us or tell us? Or do you have a message for Karen or you I'll stop asking so many questions. We understand that it's not easy to communicate. Um, visitor. It's a visitor. Are you a visitor or am I I am visiting. I see you. Are you on the bookshelf? Do you visit often? Since it is difficult to communicate and we don't want to tire you, I believe that you are respecting Karin's boundaries that if you do really want to communicate at another time, you can make a noise on
50:00
the bookshelf like you've done in the past and we'll know that that is a message that you would like to communicate with us and we'll open this again. But for now, we'll give you, if you want, like 30 more seconds to try to say any final message before we close out communication. You're free to share. When did it happen? When did what happen? I feel like this is going to be like a Greg and Dana story where all of the pieces come together so much later. Fell the dirt that fell on Karen. how it happened. Impressed. Impressed. I'm aunt aunt. I'm an aunt. An impressed aunt. Do you have any impressed aunts on the other side? No, I don't think so. No, I'm impressed with Karin as well. Unless it's my great great aunt, Irene Roth, who was Keith? Keith? Keith? Do you know a Keith? I don't think I know a Keith. Should I
51:00
know you Keith? Positively. Can you give me a clue? Are you a family member or someone from a past life or did we encounter you at the conjuring house? Stop recording. Okay. Okay. We listen and we don't judge. We listen and we don't judge. Thank you, Keith, or whoever that was for communicating with us. We appreciate it. We appreciate that you are staying in this room and that you have respected our wishes. And I do apologize if my intimidating messages made you scared to communicate. Karin is a mother who cares very much about her family and her child, and she was setting firm boundaries, which is a respectable thing to do. I didn't mean to make you fear me. We're closing communication. I love the smell of blown out candles. I'm also very curious because it's impressed. It's a hard time. I don't know. I'm I'm projecting
52:00
here, but I am so impressed with you despite everything you've been going through and how hard of a time it's been for you that I just feel like that's the same energy I was getting from the messages. But it is interesting, you know, library. I don't know who Keith is. If anyone's listening and can decode ghost better than we can, please let us know because as we've learned from the Henry Derby investigation we did with Kayn, sometimes we're just buffoons and can't see what's right in front of us, right? Yeah. Yeah. Sometimes you spell it out and we can't read. Yeah. Or we misread it. So anyway, thank you for joining us for this little investigation that we did. This was new. But we've never done this on the podcast. But yeah, if there's a different method that you think we should try with communicating with potentially whatever is here that is safe and protected, let us know. And if you also have encounters that are similar, please email them to us at two girls podcast@gmail.com. If you want bonus episodes and all episodes adree and one
53:00
week early, you can join us on Patreon. And if there are any topics that we've already covered, but you really want us to revisit, let us know. You can email that to us or in the comments, let us know. Thank you to all of you for coming back week after week. Thank you to Jamie Ryan who produces our podcast. And we will see you on the other side. Very spooky.
