A woman who claimed to have discovered the secret to a love so powerful taught to her by beings from another planet. Mystic, traveler of the galaxy, we are going to talk about Madam Vesta La Viesta. We can also say that she was a skin care girly. Oh.
She came out with the ultimate beauty secret for age-defying beauty. Very spooky. Hello everyone. Hi, welcome back to Two Girls One Ghost.
Two Girls One Ghost. We are your two girls. That's Karyn. Hello. I'm Sabrina and this is our ghost, Sven.
This is the physical embodiment of the spirit which is Sven. Who might make his
1:00
presence known to you while you're listening to this podcast because he's known to be doing that. Right. And we we feel kind of strongly that it is a male entity only because a listener gave the name Sven. Before it was just like the spirit. But over the years we have captured EVPs that other people, listeners, have pointed out in our episodes.
Yep. And it is the same unidentified male voice. So, I don't know. So, it's Sven. Shout out to you, Sven. Wherever you are, if you're in this room with us while recording, or if you're haunting one of our listeners, we love you.
Madame Viesta: OG Occult Influencer
And we love a good story about a
bold woman with some bold choices all connecting back to spirituality and ghosts.
Yes, we do. And that is what we're going to talk about today. Okay. Okay. I put a little thought starter Okay.
for everyone.
Stir our thoughts, please.
So, let's plan out our weeks right now. I'm giving everyone homework, right?
2:00
Like, what are some of your to-dos on your list?
Mine is like, clean out the fridge, do some laundry, and a million different things for Two Girls One My personal to-do list is so long because I have not tackled anything on Like, I literally just changed my name legally back to Deonna Rodger after the divorce, which I've been going through that process for how long? Like, Wait, but was it so easy cuz you didn't have to do your passport cuz you never changed your passport? No, I did change my passport. I still have my passport and my social security were like the only thing that I did change to Zuli. Mhm. And now, I finally changed my social security back, so now I have to change my passport. This is what I'm saying, my to-do list is so long because I don't make time for personal to-dos. I do podcast to-dos. Right. I'm sure everyone's answers are very like rooted in real world.
Yeah, I feel like you caused stress. Sorry. In me, personally. Well, for this woman that we are going to talk about, some of
3:00
her to-dos would probably include visiting Neptune or maybe spending some time on Venus. Did she accomplish these things? Yep. They're very realistic for her. Cuz those are also on my to-do list, but I don't I don't know how realistic it is.
to be checked off. That's like your dream That's a bucket list. That's not the to-do list. That's her to-do list. Wow. So, not only typical, but very feasible for one woman living in the Upper West Side of New York City. We are going to talk about Madam Vesta La Viesta, mystic, traveler of the galaxy, and a woman who claimed to have discovered the secret to a love so powerful, taught to her by beings from another planet. I'm obsessed. I mean, she's so cool. And I was telling you at the top and I'll I'll say it now, too. I was like, when I was researching this, it did feel almost like it was lore because they were so like Yale has documents on it. There was another Okay, so Yale University Library, they have some archives. I couldn't even access everything without being a Yale student.
4:00
Without being a Yale student and then I could have requested documents, but it would have taken too long. So, I didn't even get to see most of it. boweryboys.com also had a decent amount on her and then otherwise there's like little tiny tidbits here and there.
Interesting. But nothing really comprehensive and even in the documents from Yale University, it wasn't necessarily about her. It wasn't like about other people at the time. Huh.
And like she kept being like kind of a recurring player that was like involved in things. Yes, it was it it's confusing cuz it also could just be her story has been lost to time. Like people don't didn't share it enough. Right, cuz there's so much more that I want to know. It does kind of feel a little bit high-level, but for someone as amazing as she seems to be, you would it's still very intriguing. I have a question. And I yeah, I I I'm obsessed with her and I don't even know the story yet. Almyra Gaylord Beach, later known as Madame Vesta La
5:00
Viesta, which I did look up why she chose that name and there was no information Vesta La Viesta. Vesta La Viesta. It basically was saying like in the age of like theater and theatrics and spiritualism and stuff, people were kind of creating stage names. Hm. And so that was her chosen stage name that she thought was like very mystical sounding, It does sound very mystical.
Right. There was no more explanation outside of that. It's got like um carpe diem Mhm. like live life to the fullest energy.
Yeah. Madame Vesta La Viesta, she was basically the OG or one of the OG influencers of the occult world, I would I would like to claim her to be. Mhm. So, Almyra, she was active in New York City in the early 1900s and this was a time when everything was changing in New York City. This is a city that was like vibrating with energy, you know, like literally electricity had I think been commercialized in like the 1880s, so it'd only been a couple decades of literal energy and electricity like
6:00
being pumped through the city. I saw it like a progression of time. It was on TikTok, but it was like the major cities and where people were living like from the 1600s through the 1900s.
Oh, cool.
And it was just like you see cuz it's all New England. It's like, you know, Plymouth and Salem and all these places where people colonized early days in the 1600s, and then it slowly like New York just like pops off 1800s into the 19 1900s. I wonder why. Because it's a it becomes a city. Right. But I'm also just thinking back like I guess like the late 1700s, there was a lot of politics happening in New York. Yeah, and then also immigration like Ellis Island and stuff. True. Industrial Revolution. Yeah. What else? What are we forgetting from our history lessons? But yeah, so she's living in New York. It is like a buzzing
Crickets. What are we forgetting from our history lessons? Crickets. And I think with these tech advancements, people like Almira who were kind of like connected to the spirit world, and we'll
7:00
talk about how she was connected, are looking around and seeing these advancements, seeing energy and electricity being used in a certain way, and being like, "Oh, that actually reminds me a lot of how like energy and vibrations work in my experience with the spirit world." Well, we just recorded and it recently came out the Patreon bonus episode about Ida Craddock.
Mhm. And she was in New York at this time. Oh, I didn't even clock that when we were recording.
She was like late 18 late 1800s, early 1900s. She passed away in 1905. Oh, wow. Okay, yeah. So, this is like Almira came like Right. onto the scene basically right after. Yeah, wow. She doesn't talk about sex, but she does talk about love. So, great. A little different, but still continuing with something similar. Yeah. So, by 1912, Almira, which I'm just going to call her true color Vesta, her Sure.
Madam Vesta La Viesta, so we'll call her Vesta for the rest of this episode. So, Vesta, she's 50 years old and she is
8:00
the star instructor at the Occult School of Science. And does that school exist still? No. Oh.
It sounds so sick, right? Like we would want to go. And it was kind of like a legitimate school. It wasn't like this back alley gathering. It was a legitimate school in Harlem. She was a legitimate professional. She was a professor and she had a manager, the person who like owned the school or put it on, Frederick Nugent, who plays a bit of an important role in Madam Viesta or Vesta uh in her story. So, Nugent went by Professor John Diastro. He was a notorious scammer. So, he basically set up the school to be a scam. Hm. What's the scam? Like, just take people's money? He definitely charged a pretty penny for classes.
Okay. He just like wanted to take advantage of people, get rich, and there were classes that he put on in the school, things like Methods of Successful Mediums, where you would learn about fortune telling and palmistry, a course called The Egyptian Interpretation of Dreams,
9:00
and also courses on divination, which taught you how to make like certain devices like
Truly. There was something called a gold vibrator, which sounds sexual, but it wasn't. It was a a device that you could create to locate gold and silver or Oh, interesting. Like a metal detector almost. Basically. So, it is interesting cuz it's like he set up the school to kind of swindle people, and yet there were courses that were like legitimate teachings and teachers like Madam Vesta La Viesta, who were identified themselves as like legitimate teachers and participants in those spaces.
Well, couldn't you say like, I mean, look at college tuition these days. It is astronomical. It's also a scam. It kind of does feel like it still is like It's like oh it's
Where's all that money going?
What's your mortgage? You've been here 150 years. Everything's a scam. Yeah. Yeah, but it's like the guy who created this school, he one of his like true scams as part of the school was he would buy big like bulk packages
10:00
shipments of just like ordinary rocks. And he would resell them as magical good luck stones from 18th century Haitian leaders. So he was scamming people that way. He actually got caught. I think there was like someone investigating shipments in the US Postal Service or something and that's how they caught him. Interesting.
they gave him a warning. This part was like a little bit muddy in the articles I was reading. So he got caught for selling
like a warning or something and then basically got caught. He got sent to prison. For selling fake rocks.
For selling fake rocks saying that they were from 18th century Haitian
like the OG
in New York City like street sellers Right. They sell like fake products. Totally. He was selling rocks. Vesta, she was teaching courses where people could learn to project their energy into objects. They could melt away any real world inconveniences by sending it to the astral plane. That is so Montauk project. Mhm. Are we right? Isn't that interesting that so many of the things like all connect together and
11:00
it's all kind of the same? That's why the universe there's no coincidences. Mhm. So wild. So despite Vesta's manager and boss being a fraud, she seemed to kind of be the real deal. Or at least she was so committed to the idea that her practice and her beliefs were real that it became a very huge part of her everyday life and basically her entire identity. Wow.
NOCD
We have to talk about this. OCD is a very serious and highly misunderstood condition and then can relate Karen.
Oh yeah.

NYC woman visits planets
Outside of the classroom, Madame Vesta La Viesta lived in the Upper West Side apartment where she gave lectures to rooms that looked empty to the naked eye, but she claimed were packed with astral students who had traveled from other dimensions to hear her speak.
I love that for her. Like, true Yeah, so much. Right? She's claiming that that
a space happened to her in the early 1900s. for people who want it, she's
13:00
providing it. Yes. So, similar to what she taught in the occult school, her lectures at home all varied, but basically all tied back to energy and vibration and vibrational techniques to make things like disease go away, debt go away in an instant, really anything.
Wow.
Yeah. Some people could use this class.
Right? Bring back her teachings. Seriously. But if you were wondering, how the heck did she learn all this? Where did she get this information from? Well, through her research, of course. Her research, her data came from her soul leaving her body astrally and flying through outer space. So she wasn't just like astral projecting and going and visiting her best friend or being like, "Ooh, let me go to some pretty beach in Italy that I saw in a magazine." She was going to wander around our galaxy. Okay. Again, talking about how like so many things connect. Like it's kind of essentially what
14:00
people are doing with in the Gateway Tapes and it's all vibration and binaural beats. Like the sound allowing you to leave your physical body and travel. And in the Gateway program, there are like different planets that people can access and see. This makes me so curious. Again, like there's not enough information on her, but now I'm really curious if there was any sort of like tuning bowls or like any sort of She was talking about vibrations. she used to get herself into the state. Like what did she actually teach? She was just like OG Gateway Tapes. Well, I don't know, but she was in our She was specifically in our solar system. So she didn't like go to
Yeah. faraway galaxies or like all throughout the Milky Way. Or they were saying that she thinks she thinks she were she was in her our solar system. True. Interesting. Who knows? Who knows? In 1904, she called the cosmological center and described a recent vacation she took to Mars and Venus via actual projection.
Vacation. Mhm. Yeah, a trip, a vacay.
15:00
So keep in mind this is 1904. No man has stepped on the moon. We don't have high-resolution photos from the Mars rover. Satellites and other man-made objects wouldn't even be launched into space for a few more decades. Damn. So like we were not in space. Right. With telescopes, with theories. Right. That's about it. So Madame Vessela Viesa is traveling through space.
Right, exactly. As scientists are speculating about planetary systems and how space itself works, Vesta is like, "Oh, I've been going to these planets. I've been talking to people on these planets." This kind of reminds me of the Smiling Man. Now, Remember the Smiling Man? You covered it a few years ago. The Smiling Man, um, What was his name? Project Lanulos? Yes. Indrid Indrid Cold?
Indrid Cold, yeah. Who went to different planets. Yeah. And basically was talking like he was a being on
Yeah, Lanulos. Lanulos. Yeah. It's actually quite similar, actually. Now that I'm really thinking about it, what
16:00
she said
Everything's connected. This is like the episode where it does feel like so much is connected.
It's all connected. Everyone goes mad. So, not only did she claim to speak to different beings on these planets, but she understood understood or was like introduced to the society and like how their culture and society worked. Was it telepathic communication? Cuz that was very that was the whole thing with Project Lanulos. Maybe. She didn't straight out say that, but how she talks about beings connecting makes you think that it probably is telepathic. She like essentially describes that Interesting.
without outwardly saying it.
Right. So, one of the planets she said that she'd been to is Venus. I know Venus is the Roman goddess of love, desire, sex, and fertility. So, we probably shouldn't be too surprised that Vesta claimed that on planet Venus the inhabitants, the aliens there, are all soul-mated couples. But they aren't just married or in some like binding union. They are physically connected. And this reminded me of
17:00
Avatar. Avatar. Literally, it reminded me of Avatar. This is the what does it remind you of episode. Like there is so many connections, but like again, this happened in like 1904 to like 1920, basically. Yeah. She described them as having quote flexible astral and psychological tubing that was invisible but like connected their bodies. So you're essentially tethered to your partner. And no matter where you are, what you're doing, what you're thinking, what you're experiencing, are you hungry? Your partner will know. I think a lot of people hearing this would probably be like very against this idea.
Very stressed. But I think that similar to the episode on Injured Cold, The Smiling Man and Planet Lanulos cuz we talked a lot about like not wanting people to hear our like intrusive thoughts or like inner thoughts on stuff. But like the whole point of that episode was like there is some sort of higher level of like love and consciousness and Because nothing is
18:00
pluribus. It is. Yeah. It is Oh, that is God damn. God damn. And I think that that's essentially what people were going through here. So like while we in our human forms are like, "Oh my god, that would be horrifying."
privacy, independence. Yeah, like I did I didn't mean that thought. I don't want that to like ruin what we have or whatever. They're all They are very connected and they basically like become one shared entity. Wow. She saw soulmates living in perfect harmony connected by these vibrational cords. And that's where I was saying that this reminded me when we were recording your Patreon episode for March. I was saying like, "Oh, this reminds me of the episode that I am about to talk about because Ida in your episode was not sure where her partner had come from. Right. And his like astral being and energy. And this reminded me of this part where it's like maybe this entity was from another planet and they were just like tethered in that way because of where she went and how she behaved in like the
19:00
energetic field. And also if you think of reincarnation, just because like of the universe being infinite, is your soul reincarnated from something that existed here? or could it be something from the universe? Right. I mean, there are plenty of people who are like, "Oh, I used to live on Mars." Right. Or you used to live in a different version. There are people who go to sleep and wake up and are like, "I'm in a completely different timeline." We have no answers, but everything is connected. Everything is connected. Okay, so this all sounds really beautiful, right?
Yeah. And like, you know, we're coming off of Ida's experience that you shared. Now we have Vesta's experience where it's like aliens and energy and other worlds. Like it seems so wonderfully beautiful love. Right. Like that there's this like other world and vibration that we can get to if we allow ourselves to. Yeah. But to give you some perspective, so this is the very early 1900s. When Vesta is talking about all this, this is happening at the time of the Van Meter incident, which we covered on episode
20:00
330. And just as a refresher, there was a small coal town in Van Meter, Iowa where on September 29th, 1903, a businessman named U.G. Griffith saw a blinding light. A beam was cutting through the cornfields. He grabbed his shotgun, saw an 8-ft tall creature that looked like a man, but had massive bat-like wings, a glowing horn. It like basically acted like a lighthouse. It was like a huge search beam. He was scared, fired his gun. Creature didn't flinch. It looked at him and then vanished. And then over the next few days in Van Meter, Iowa, the town's doctor, the local banker, a bunch of different people saw this creature and described it as smelling really sulfuric, like having this rotting stench to it. Mhm. And bullets would seemingly be on uneffecting to the creature. And it scared a lot of people. Surely. So, this is happening at the same time that Vesta's like, "Aliens are in love with one another and connected on a whole different plane." And then other people
21:00
in middle America are like terrified by these creatures, terrestrial creatures. So, there's a huge juxtaposition between like what is an alien? Right. What are we connecting to? What are we calling to our planet?
Yeah. While still also not even understanding space. Right. That didn't change Madame Vestal La Viesta's Of course not. view at all, right?
a great time. She's having a great time. And also she's not just chilling in Iowa. Like she is actually projecting and like literally going to these creatures. I'm calling them creatures that that feels really weird for some reason.
But also who knows if they're the same entities. Right. Yeah. You don't know who lives on Venus versus who lives on Mars.
So, she also learned through her travels that these aliens meant no harm, that they had a greater understanding of love, care, and connection. And from these beings, she learned about something called the soul kiss. Oh.
22:00
In 1907, she revealed to the world that she had taken an astral voyage to Neptune. So, like Venus is for lovers, but Neptune is also for lovers. And Jupiter is where boys go to get stupider.
Yeah. Exactly. And Mars filled with candy bars. She said that she was taught the secret of the soul kiss on Neptune Mhm. by her affinity on that planet, quote affinity. So, your affinity is basically it's like your soulmate. Yeah. Which I like the way that she worded it because it implies that she has men on all planets. Oh, yeah. Yeah, she's connected. She's got digits. She described it as a rapturous and strangely indescribable form of love. Wow. And she also said the soul kiss is not like a a physical like mouth-to-mouth situation like we would know kissing to be in our human form on planet Earth. But instead it involved an
23:00
aroused nervous system, some cellular breathing, which I don't really know what that means, and a wireless transmission of love. Which does seem way more powerful Mhm. than love that we know of. It also sounds similar to what she learned in Venus. In Venus, where it's like there's some sort of like wireless connection.
connection here, like you're spiritually plugged into the other person.
Yeah. Which again, like kind of goes back to electricity being brought into New York and kind of seeing how it's all
Mhm. We got telephones being a part of life back then. Like things are things are happening. So, she claimed that if you tuned your vibrations correctly, you could feel the love of your affinity, aka your soulmate, no matter where you were in the galaxy. Oh. Which is interesting because on Venus, she suggested that there was one eternal love match, which would suggest that in all of the galaxy, you only have one. Or in Venus, you mate for
24:00
life. So, does it like what planet
are you on? Which doesn't mean that you only have one soulmate, but it's just that you have one person that you connect to and you stay with for life.
You imprint on, like Twilight. How many more references can we can we make? This actually the whole vibration thing, I know mostly magnetism was spoken about in the episode, but like the Coral Coral Castle.
thinking about that, too. Yeah, where the guy was like lifting stones and with vibration. With vibration. He was like, if you just tune into it. How do we tune in? How do we? The Gateway Tapes. That's how.
dew-baths for eternal youth
So, again, like she worked for a scammer, but like it seems like she's not a scammer, but even if she was a scammer, this next part, I love her for. Um, and I accept it as full truth. She also doesn't seem like she's stealing money. Like it feels like she's just like speaking her beliefs. Mhm. And like she's teaching to an a seemingly empty room.
25:00
That's true. How she going to charge them? Right. Actually, she can't. So, in the beginning I called her an OG influencer of the occult. We can also say that she was a skin care girly. Oh. She was an influencer. She came out with the ultimate beauty secret for age-defying beauty. What was it? As the warmth of the day subsides and nightfall has appropriately hidden your backyard or your patio or something. Your fire escape in your city. Yeah. Undress completely. Stand in your yard. Allow the dew drops to collect all over you. Or simply wake early enough in the morning before others and press your nude body against the dew-filled grass. Hydration. For dew holds a vibrational essence of morning and by letting it absorb through your skin, you are recharging your astral beauty. She was basically onto hyaluronic acid before we were. People literally did this. They took her word for it, which some people might be like, "Oh my god, that's so ridiculous." But remember that we are
26:00
currently putting snail mucin all over our faces.
And what's what's it called? Salmon sperm.
And salmon sperm. Like the um dew is way less wild than what we're doing today.
There's a picture if you're watching on YouTube, but like look at this like little drawing of a woman just like pressing her face into the
much. Okay, I was picturing them naked. Well, because she instructs people to be naked.
But not everyone was doing it naked. Well, I guess a lot of people probably couldn't uh find an opportunity to not be seen. Right. And they also wouldn't advertise a naked woman in the 1900s early 1900s in a cartoon drawing.
Exactly. I did find it interesting that like, you know, she's going to all these planets. She has like this understanding of like love and being like beyond yourself, but she's still a woman of her time and looking
meat suit that she's trying to take care of.
Looking young is also a priority. Again, it's just you can't escape a society. You can't.

a search for the lost plane
Okay, but I think we can all agree that she's a little zany. She's a little fun. She's a great time. She's one of us. And I wouldn't categorize, kind of like what you were saying with it didn't seem like she was a scammer cuz she wasn't like charging a lot of people. And also like this is a free, anyone can do themselves. Yes. She's not creating a product that costs and press your nude body against dew. Right. That's free. It's free information. She's not gatekeeping. Yeah. So, to that point, I wouldn't categorize much of her teachings as like doing any harm to people.
Yeah. And soon, Vester's talents would be put to the test. So, in the Yale University Library, there is a correspondence or there's like reference to a correspondence. There was supposedly photos of the correspondence, but I couldn't access it cuz I'm not a Yale student.
Okay. Uh but if you're a Yale student Help me access it for us.
God, there were so many pictures attached to the thing and I couldn't I
29:00
couldn't open any of them. It's so depressing. Open it up, Yale. Why are you gatekeeping knowledge? Good question. Especially about this. Like is this really a topic that you you want to like have behind a paywall?
be fair, if they have a lot of things behind a paywall, they're not going to like go in and manually like ooh this one should be available. Right. How about that psychic lady who went to other planets and pressed her naked body against you?
Release it to the world. So apparently there's a photo of a correspondence, but in what I could see there was written reference between Madam Vesta LaVesta and a man named Stanley Yale Beach. And so the Yale University Library is mostly about Stanley Yale Beach and then just has references to
Gotcha. Vesta. But Stanley, he was a big deal back in his day. He was an aviator, an inventor. He was the grandson of a famous publisher. He was a man of science, engineering, aeronautics. He was also Almira's friend. Or Vesta's friend, sorry.
30:00
Well, I guess it was all Almira to him.
too. Yeah. And I'll say this, I'm not sure if he had all of these accolades under his belt yet when we get into this part of the information on uh Vesta, but apparently in some sort of format he was working as her secretary. And I don't know if that's because he like wasn't he was like working towards something in his own career and that was just like a gig he had, or if it was like they were friends and he was just like
Helping her out. I'll do a couple hours of work for you uh a week or whatever. I don't know, but
she had a secretary. I really She did. And he was using her letterhead. Stop. Her her like occultish spiritualism letterhead for his own personal correspondences to others, which were usually about aeronautics and engineering. So, he was like had these like nerdy like I love it.
Yeah. He was going back and forth with all these people within that world with like really brilliant ideas, like drawing things out, and it was on Madame Vesta La Viesta's letterhead.
31:00
I love that so much. Anyway, in 1927, there were two French aviators, Charles Nungesser and François Coli. I'm sure I didn't pronounce pronounce either of those correctly. They took off in a plane called the White Bird. Here goes my French pronunciation. L'Oiseau Blanc. Okay? And they were attempting a transatlantic flight, but they vanished somewhere over the Atlantic. And with this disappearance, Stanley Yale Beach, he started to investigate trying to figure out like where these guys went, where did this ghost flight go, where did they go down potentially? So, he turned to a psychic friend, Elmyra Vesta, Madame Vesta La Viesta, and asked her to use her astral projection abilities to locate the plane. And now this is where it's upsetting, because there's really not much information on what she comes back with.
Oh, jeez. But, apparently, she claimed essentially that the ethers held all of the answers, but sometimes the universe just swallows things whole, and even the
32:00
most talented of astral projectors or astral travelers can't always bring people home in that way.
Right. Which I guess makes sense. Well, even like she wasn't making people rise from the dead or like Right. And even with psychics today, cuz there are many in history and even to this day, like there are a lot of investigators who do turn to like trusted psychics for help in cases, or like families will turn to psychics, and like yes, we know there's a lot of like scammers out there, but there is evidence of like Allison DuBois, who the show Medium was inspired by, is a real medium who has helped find evidence of like things Right.
But that doesn't mean they can help with every single case. That doesn't mean the spirits are really coming through or coming clearly. There's probably so much noise
and chaos Yeah. in that world. I am curious what's going to come of and you know, like we're recording this a month in advance. Maybe we'll have answers to it by the time that this episode comes out, but while recording this, Nancy
33:00
Guthrie is still missing.
But but apparently she has been so vocal to a bunch of different mediums that a lot of people are coming forward with the same information saying that that Oh, interesting. her in spirit form is she's telling them this. So, we'll see where she's found and see if it matches.
hard when like something is so in the public eye to to trust Right.
cuz it's like is this real information or is this someone who's like feeding on the limelight? Or just like it's in the back of your mind cuz you're seeing it so much that like you dream about it or Subconsciously. Yeah.
something's just you're suddenly reminded of it and you misinterpret it as a message. Yeah. Yeah. It's tough.
Madame Viesta's book & legacy
Okay, so she went to a bunch of other planets. She had all of this knowledge of like the plants and different like flora and fauna and the different people that she saw on her actual travels and she published a book, People of the Other Worlds chronicling it. Ooh. So, she is this woman in New York City
34:00
telling people that she regularly travels in her astral body to other planets. Mhm. She's giving beauty advice that involves rubbing your naked body on morning dew. Of course.
to understand true love, soul ties, and can use her own soul powers to rid herself of life's inconveniences like debt within a second. She's being consulted on serious matters like a missing plane. And she really just seems to be living with one foot in our world and one foot in another planet. Like somewhere somewhere else. In the universe. So, what happened to Madam Vesta La Biesta? Good question. I want to know. Well, her manager and employer at the occult school went to prison, and that school faded away, but she kept going. So, apparently, she continued to share her spiritual guidance with people like Stanley Yell Beach and others until she one day just disappeared from the public record. So, I have no idea what happened to her. And again, this is why
35:00
I was telling you before I was like, this so feels like lore because there's just not enough information. It's like But there is enough suddenly stops. But there's enough real references to her. Right. That she is real. I know. It's just confusing cuz even in the Yale University documents, it's not like I'm sure it would feel more real to me if I had access to the actual articles and correspondence.
head and Yeah, but it was all like, he apparently was her secretary. It was like a lot of like, it is said that this
Right. instead of he was this, she was that. But I do think this is evidence of Think about how many people currently exist in the world today. And how many people have existed in the world going back in history. You think of like ancient Egypt. You know of like King Tut, but you don't know about like the lay person Right.
who might have had some type of influence on King Tut.
Mhm. And there's probably a lot of kids we don't even know about. We just know about King Tut. Right. And whatever. But like I think the point being, there are
36:00
so many people who exist today. There are so many people who exist in the past Mhm. that unfortunately, we will never really know everyone's stories. Yeah. And the way that like one person may have impacted a infamous person. But the reason we know the the people we do know about very well is because they were either in positions of power or they had so so many like writings and documents that they shared with the world. And even going back to the March Patreon bonus, I had a critic has so many pamphlets and things that she has written. And still we haven't heard of her until doing that research, you know? Right. So that doesn't mean she doesn't she didn't exist. It just means that unfortunately you had to be there to really know her. If you know, you know. You know, yeah. Insider. But it is frustrating when the trail is just like a loss. Just She's like we don't know what happened. Right.
So. Wow.
have made jokes that she just finally stayed on one of the planets that she
37:00
left so much. Honestly, half the time I I wish I lived on another planet. Right. Way way less of the human issues that we have. Yeah. Damn. All to say, Madame Vesta Laviosa's story, like I said before, she's a little bit fun, she's a little bit zany, but I think we can all appreciate that for a moment of time in history when it certainly wasn't popular to go against the grain, a woman stood her ground and said there's more to life, there's more to the world, and I will show you if you just dared to believe a little.
Yeah. Ugh. I do believe that she probably did have like so many journals and diaries and it's like where did those go? Are they at the bottom of landfills? Are they just decaying somewhere? Are they in someone's basement?
they're like in an attic in like this old trunk that someone hasn't gone through yet and one day they're going to crack it open and they're going to be like It's going to be the right person who comes across it.
on TikTok there was someone who like was renovating their stairwell and they picked up like one of the planks of wood
38:00
and in like underneath the stairs were like old articles, like a box with shoes and like all these mementos from like the 1800s. So freaking cool.
Yeah. Like you don't know.
God, I wish. We don't know cuz you're not just like if you have a house, you're not just like tearing apart walls unless you're doing massive renovations. Like you're like, I'm living here and I'm going to sleep in my fully walled house. But yeah, you don't know what's behind the walls. I saw a video a couple days ago of someone doing a renovation in their house and it was just like they took off just like a small piece in their wall and a bunch of like dollar bills and quarters were coming out. And someone commented saying my house says that this is AI. So you don't try to tear apart your house for to find all the treasure. But people also did that. People hid their money in walls.
They did. They didn't trust the banks. Right. I was so curious like what time period that came from because it wasn't like they were hundred dollar bills or
39:00
like a sizeable amount of cash. It It was probably like, I don't know, 50 bucks or so to come out of that wall. Yeah. It's funny when we were in London for my dad's birthday, my sister's husband Johnny I guess had like a bunch of old euros from the last time he was in London, which must have been, I don't know, 15 years ago.
Mhm. And he tried to use his old euros and they were like, we don't accept this. Like they're like, this is not in circulation anymore. Like I think he probably What do you mean you don't accept it? Like the the bill itself has changed. So what did everyone have to just go like exchange their old bills for new ones?
So I think like if he took it to a bank, he probably could have gotten it exchanged, but like he was like, I don't know what to do with this.
Yeah. Isn't that wild?
That's interesting. Yeah. Cuz that that's like something that I'm I don't do it anymore, but like when I was younger, every place that we traveled to I'd keep like $5 worth of money or whatever.
Like go to Croatia, keep like five bucks and like coins and like a couple like bills or whatever. Yeah.
Yeah.

listener story
Okay, I have a listener story that I picked a long time ago, so I don't necessarily know the reason I picked it, but I was drawn to it. This is from our listener anonymous and is called past lives, demonic attachments, possession, generational witches, ghost encounters, and more. Wow, that's a lot. We got a lot here. Hi girlies. I am a witch by lineage through my mom and boy do I have some stories. I'll start at the beginning and I'll lay this out in parts like an essay, so it's easier for you to read. So it starts with part one, past lives and bloodline. Growing up, I knew my family was different. After my mom and dad divorced, my mom started being more open about her beliefs and practices. I was only four when they divorced, so honestly, her practices are kind of all I ever knew. She loved bringing us to local psychics and mediums, using tarot cards and
42:00
pendulums and dowsing rods and wow, she has an impressive crystal collection. But anyway, that's how I grew up. She started bringing us to local psychic fairs and when I was a little older, we would get our aura readings done, as well as other types of readings. I had no reason to get readings so young, so my first one wasn't until I was a little older. But I would sit with her while she got her readings, or I'd walk around with my sisters admiring the crystals. This is where I knew our magic lay. In divination and mediumship. But one recurring thing from when I was a baby was whenever one of us burned ourselves or got a scrape that hurt, my mom would gently hold the area and whisper to it, and then gently blow on it. She wouldn't tell me what she was saying, but that when I was older, I would find my own words for it. We called it talking the fire out. I love this. Her mother did it for her and told her the same thing, that when she got older, she would find her own words for it. I don't know how, but every time she would talk the fire out, it worked and
43:00
it wouldn't hurt anymore. Chalk it up to being a global child or a mother's love, but I still use this and I swear it helps. I'm in my mid-20s now and I have found my own words to say, and if you ever want to try this on your own spooky kids maybe, I will leave you to figure out what to say as well, because that is the tradition. It's like a very beautiful It's like talking to your plants. Right. Like healing energy. I love that it's like knowledge that just comes to you when you need it when you're older.
Right, too. Like you witness before it becomes a part of you. Yeah. Aside from knowing my mother and hers were witches, though we didn't know that was the word that they were, we called it being psychic forever, but now I know, they're all witches. I know it goes back for many generations. My family is heavily Celtic and mostly comes from Ireland and Scotland. I have a friend who I will call Ella, who has a very unique gift and I'm blessed to know her. I won't tell her her whole story cuz it's not mine to tell, but all I can say is that she is one of the most powerful people I've ever met. She has the ability to talk and see and
44:00
feel ghosts, but can look into your past lives and family history as well. Woah. I mentioned to her one time how I just know I come from a family of witches and nonchalantly she said, "Yeah, I know. It's an ancient lineage, too. It goes way back." I'm like, "Excuse me, girl. Hello? Can you elaborate?" That's like, share the information as soon as it comes to you. Oh my gosh. Yeah, but it's also like spiritual consent of like I know. Ethically they can't, but I would want that shared with me. But Ella did share. "Basically, I have an ancestor named Isla Isla. I'm sorry if I'm not saying it right. She had three daughters, which I am one of three sisters, so the number three being like a big part of their lineage. The name of the daughters were I'm going to butcher these. Dianne, Mobile, and Sorcha." Wow. They're like Celtic names. Isla was one of the strongest witches in my lineage and started her own coven, which included her daughters when they became
45:00
of age. She was a witch and a druid. She did tarot, spells, had prophetic dreams, was clairvoyant among others, but eventually she was accused of witchcraft and went on the run. Now, when I heard this, I was shocked. I had always felt that my family's witch lineage was deep, but I never imagined how far back. I believe this went back to the 1400s, 1500s. And something that really caught my eye was that the powers that Isla had. I immediately said, "Wow, we share the same gifts." Aside from being druid, which I am not, Ella confirmed that yes, I believe you are her. And that you are here to ensure the craft lives on in your family."
Oh my god. Also, sorry. I just had to look at the pronunciations cuz I was so curious and I'm probably still going to butcher this. They're Gaelic. And the one that's like Dianne or whatever is Jeanette. It's apparently Damn. So I might be wrong. Um the one that says that looks like Mobile is Mobile or Moy Ball. Okay.
46:00
So close. And the one that looks like Sorcha is Searca. Damn. I'm still probably saying them wrong, but yeah. Another thing that stood out to me was one of the daughters' names felt very connected to my mother's because of the middle name, which I'm not going to share out of privacy sake. The other two daughters were now my sisters, according to Ella. This is not the only two lifetimes we've been together, either. When I was younger, I was very possessive over my mother to an alarming and after my parents divorce, I freaked out whenever she even talked to a man, which obviously was caused by the divorce, but it was more than that. My mom got a past life reading done when I was around eight or nine, and in it they said that we shared past lives. I only distinctly remember two of them, but the first one I remember hearing about was that I was a male child of my mother, and I was sent away at a young age to be a monk and never saw my family again. The second, however, was much darker. And there's content warning for domestic
47:00
abuse, but this was during the Civil War. I was a soldier and my mom was my wife. We had two children who happened to be my sisters in this life. And apparently I was not a kind husband, and I was very abusive of all three. Oh, man. My wife would put herself in front of the children to protect them, and we were told that I was reincarnated as her youngest child because of this to teach me that I do not own her, and I have no power to treat anyone that way. Which is interesting because she felt so like possessive of her mom after the divorce. Anytime I came back as a man, I was basically sent away or I was an abusive person, but as a woman, I was powerful and kind. It's as if my soul knows I'm not supposed to be a man, and that I have work to do here as a female witch for my family. Interesting. That is interesting.
Powerful woman witchcraft lineage. Okay, now for the demonic attachment story. I mentioned how most of my gifts are divination. I can read auras and have
48:00
prophetic dreams. My oldest sister, however, differs. Her gifts are strongest when it comes to spirits. And when I was little, I had severe anxiety of everything. Like so bad that at the age of 10, I refused to leave my house one day or even go down near the windows and doors because I was terrified I was going to be shot. Because of this fear, I shut basically any capability to see or talk to ghosts. I can hear them, but that's the extent of it. The only way I can see them it's my grandparents who visit me in dreams. And I am not keen to switching that flip back on, either. My sister, however, is the opposite. She has been seeing and talking to ghosts since she was a child. So much so that my mom's adult friends ask her for help. Well, my mom had this specific friend who had two kids. One was my age, and a girl who was a couple years older than my older sister. We were all good friends. And we'll call my mom's friend Pam. She was in an unhealthy, abusive marriage that I still don't know much about, but their house was a beacon for dark energy because of it. Pam got her daughter, who
49:00
we'll call Jenny, a spell book one day just to explore, but she was unaware that this book had dark magic spells in it. Even a death spell. Ooh. Well, after a bad breakup, Jenny was feeling angry and decided to test that specific spell out. She got halfway through before changing her mind and stopping the spell. Notice how I said stop. She did not finish the spell, which meant that she left open a portal. Jenny was young and didn't really realize the ramifications of her actions. She, to her, basically had just got a new cookbook and was excited and didn't understand the power behind it. Wow. Which allowed a dark, demonic, I believe demonic entity to come through the portal and attach itself to her. At first, they didn't notice anything, but slowly this entity started showing itself. The energy in her house became suffocating. Jenny started acting aggressive and irrational. They could see something dark near her out of the corner of their eye or during quick glances. Jenny had posters above
50:00
her head of Shirley Temple and one day upon coming home from school, these posters were scratched to make Shirley Temple have demonic smile and eyes. Jenny did not do this. Neither had Jenny done her sister. No one had. Posters and crosses would randomly be turned upside down. It was getting really, really bad. They even tried throwing the spellbook away and it kept coming back showing up in her room. That is so scary. Obviously afraid of any escalation, they went to a priest and got holy water. But either they didn't get enough or it just did not work. This thing would not leave. Jenny started to feeling really depressed and things were getting even worse. So Pam reached out to my mom because they were best friends and my mom sent in my oldest sister to get a feel for things. I also like it's her older sister but it's she's still like
young. Right? My oldest sister knew immediately that this was demonic and immediately got a reading for how it got attached. So they planned to have a sleepover to get this thing the [ __ ]
51:00
out. They started when the sun went down. My sister had holy water. She was talking to the spirit telling it to leave, asking why it was here, what it wanted. She was praying, putting all of her intentions towards removing this entity. She knew about the spell and the book. So she decided to try and burn the page of that specific spell to close it. She literally held a lighter to it and the page would not burn. This is so freaky. I know. Because it's like whatever this attachment was is trying to use the bad parts of this book.
I honestly I'm getting like nauseous reading this part of the story.
Yeah. My sister's not dramatic. She's humble and being the oldest has always tried to protect me from scary things. She has never made stories scarier or lied. So everything she says, I 100% believe her. And there there these other two witnesses, Jenny and Pam. When she realized the page was not burning, she had another idea. There was a church across the street from Jenny's house, so she grabbed the book, went to the church parking lot, and in the parking lot they tried to burn the page again. They figured maybe being in the
52:00
parking lot would help, but nope, still would not burn. This is when they decided, "Fuck it, burning the whole book." So, they built a fire pit and threw the book in, which made the cops come. Pam had to come out to tell the cops what was happening, and the cops let them go with a with a little bit of a warning. The book resisted the fire for a while until finally it started to catch fire. But just as it started catching, the flame shaped into a figure looking like the Grim Reaper. Ooh.
All three women saw this. They looked at each other to confirm, but finally the book did burn. The book finally burned, and they left it at that, going inside and splashing holy water around the house. I'm not sure how things ended, but I do know we didn't hear about this entity again. Jenny and Pam were doing well, so I guess they closed the portal. Again, my sister is not someone to embellish stories, and I have witnessed her in action before. All I know is I think two people's lives were saved by burning that book. Oh my god, it's wild.
53:00
Oh, it's so devastating because the book itself didn't seem evil. It was like the entity that attached itself. And so like that's an amazing like grimoire that's been lost due to the threat of something else misusing it. But it also does prove how powerful the spells in that book were, that if not completed, a demonic entity could come through and be attached to it. Right. Wild. Aw, man. It goes back to like always set intentions and always close out communication. Mhm. And your sessions. Okay, so this is the last little blurb, and it's about Anonymous's personal experiences, which include a possession, maybe. An additional possession cuz we just had one. So, because of me blocking off the part of my mind that is able to see and talk to ghosts, I don't have many personal encounters. The few that I do have are pretty tame compared to my sister as well as compared to my best friend in high school who I'll call Amy.
54:00
Amy has had a lot of experiences throughout the years. I also love that this listener is cosmically tied to and continued to be introduced to other witchy people.
Mhm. Meant to be.
Meant to be. So, Amy could see and feel them, but she refused to talk to the spirits because she was afraid that they would say something like, "You will die in 7 days." Amy did have a couple of ghosts attached to her. Again, I never really experienced them. However, I can tell you what I did experience. One night, Amy and I were having a sleepover. It was a school night and we were always sleeping over at each other's houses. We were at my house, which was haunted by a couple spirits none of them malicious. We were laughing, giggling, probably on my phone scrolling Facebook, you know, when Amy grabbed my phone and started scrolling on it. She was laughing, acting normal, when all of a sudden she paused. I assumed she was just reading whatever was on the screen cuz 1 second ago we were literally laughing next to each other. But then I realized something had shifted. She was still laughing,
55:00
but she wasn't moving. Like her whole body and face were still, but laughter was coming out.
Ew. I would think I was having a seizure or something.
witness that. Well, I think she thought something was like medically wrong with Amy. All of a sudden the laughter stopped. And I thought, "What is going on?" Her eyes were wide open and now she's staring into the corner of my room not blinking. I knew something was off. And I scare easily. So, when I saw her face, I thought maybe she was messing with me. So, I grabbed my phone, I turned on the flashlight, and started doing things to make her laugh or blink or move. I had my flashlight on her face and she literally wouldn't blink. She would not move. No smile, nothing. She was clearly not messing with me. So creepy. So I started shaking her and just yelling repeatedly, "Fuck you! [ __ ] you! [ __ ] you!" Whatever this spirit was. Then, as I'm screaming, she comes to and looks at me and says, "What? What is wrong?"
56:00
Now, I was like, "Bitch, what the hell is wrong with you?" She was completely confused, had no idea why I was freaking out, had no idea what was happening. Last thing she remembered, she was just scrolling through my phone. And I was like, "No, you completely blacked out and were staring at the corner in a trance." She has no idea what happened, but it never happened again. The other really notable experience I had was also with Amy. We had quite the teenage friendship. We were best friends, inseparable, always at each other's houses, but we would fight and then hate each other for a couple of weeks and months and then get back to being friends and this was a constant cycle. So this next story happened when we were in one of our fights, when we weren't friends. I was at my house hanging out in my room, messing around on my phone, when I randomly started getting a call from Amy. I was confused because we were not friends at this point. So I was like, "Why is she calling?" I answered my phone not knowing what to expect. She said, "Hey, could you meet me halfway between our houses?" We live like three blocks away from each other, so like a 5-minute walk.
57:00
I could tell she was anxious and I was obviously concerned, so I agreed but I asked why. As we walked to each other, we stayed on the phone and she told me what was happening. She was on the phone with her friend, home alone, in her living room and she has this big glass sliding door in her living room that saw straight into her backyard. From where she was, you could see the window of her brother's room on the side of the house. So she's just chatting with her friend, watching TV, when all of a sudden out of the corner of her eye, she looked over and saw a woman staring into her brother's room, hands on the window and everything. What in the world? But she knew this woman. It was a ghost that she would see around her home, usually in her kitchen. Seeing her outside, seeing her stare into her brother's window really freaked her out. So, she decided to go into her bedroom and she left her door open since she was home alone. Across the hall was her brother's room. His door was also open and she could see from her bed. She sat on her bed a little freaked out when all of a sudden she saw a pillow fly off of her
58:00
brother's bed. She immediately told her friend what was happening and they both agreed to call me. They knew I was the person to call in this situation. She obviously didn't want to because like I said, we were fighting and thought it would be awkward. But eventually she did call me. She needed me to go back to her house with her to lock it down spiritually. We went back to her house and we decided to see if we could see or feel the ghost. We walked through her house and couldn't feel anything. Then we got to her parents' room. We walked in. I stayed back by the bedroom door and she walked around checking it out. She could feel the ghost but she didn't think it was in this room. As she's saying this, I all of a sudden have the hair on the back of my neck stand straight up as if I knew someone was standing behind me and I heard this sound. It was the sound of someone breathing but it came from far away and traveled right next to my ear. Ooh, so unsettling. It was as if someone ran at me full speed. So, I jumped onto Amy and was like, "We need to leave now." She agreed. We went to the living room
59:00
again. I stood behind her as she locked the door on the inside. As she's in the middle of locking the door, we hear hands slam onto the glass of the sliding door. No. All I know is I pushed Amy and we ran. By the time I stopped, I was in the middle of the street and I looked back just to see her closing the door. My god, I thought Anonymous had a lot going on. Amy, so much. Amy's in danger. All of your friends are danger. What is happening? And it's like witchy world.
Also, like why did the spirit that Amy has clearly seen before in a more benign nature like all of a sudden become so aggressive?
Mhm. Anyway, I don't know how they cleansed the house, but we never spent the night at Amy's house again, and I never experienced anything like that again. I hope you'll read this on the podcast someday. Thank you for reading my [ __ ] thesis. Stay spooky, ladies. Anonymous. Oh my gosh, you are literally living a TV show.
