The sheet ghost story

it's Lydia from Indiana again I previously sent you a story about seeing The Apparition of my great-grandmother during a power outage but this story is a lot scarier oh I was living in a house that was over 100 years old with my father at the time I was probably 13 or 14 years old and the layout of the house went kind of in a circle you had to go between the bedroom to get to the kitchen the bathroom and my dad's room the doorway between my bedroom and this bedroom was covered by a sheet the foot of the bed faced the doorway and since creepy stuff had already happened to me in this house I like to keep a light on in this bedroom so the house wasn't totally dark if I needed to get up and pee or something this particular night I fell asleep with my TV on at about 10

o'clock at night I was startled awake around 3 A.M but by what I assumed to be the TV I woke up and I instinctively looked towards the doorway and to my surprise I could see someone standing there they were standing there on the back side of the sheet next to the bedroom I could see their backlit silhouette perfectly since I kept the light on in that room I looked closer and I noticed that the sheet was moving and then I noticed that there was a hand that was running back and forth across the sheet that this figure was so solid that I assumed it was my dad messing with me it looked to be about the size of my dad too about six foot three maybe 350 pounds so I called out dad what are you doing no response dad seriously no response still running their hand back and forth dad cut it out I was kind of getting scared as well as getting pissed off Dad stop I said loudly as I picked up my shoe and I chucked it at this figure as

my shoe fell to the ground so did the sheet and there was no one standing there I felt all of the blood drain from my face and my hands as this as my anger turned to fear I was frozen there for maybe five minutes deciding what to do and I decided that I needed to go and get my dad so I ran full speed through the bedroom and turned the sharp corner into the doorway to my dad's room I woke him up I begged him to let me sleep when in the room with him and I told him what I had seen and he could tell that I was terrified being the good father and the big strong Brave man that he was he let me sleep in his bed for the night and took over my bed after that night I couldn't sleep in the house anymore soon after I moved in with my grandma and my great aunt a few years later this house was torn down and they are currently building new houses in its place I have a couple more creepy stories about this house if you're interested but thank you for creating such an amazing creepy podcast see you on the other side Lydia but yeah we absolutely knew need to hear

I mean I love that it was like the sheet hand and the silhouette behind the sheet but part of me does wish that it like went through the sheet in the sheet entirely cloaked it that I know yeah little tissue ghost because if anything this is now just like a spirit being creepy silhouetting behind a sheet that is just there and this is also to me important information to never use a sheet in your doorway I'd rather just have an open doorway because yeah or or like a black curtain or something not not one and backlit yeah yeah I don't know I wouldn't I would need it to be obsidian black so that I can't tell if any movement's actually happening on it or not it's just a complete darkness I remember like my if any of my doors and I like you know there's a bunch of windows in my apartment I'm sure there's a cross breezes that close it but like even if my door like shuts on its own

you girls are awesome here is my ghost story my name is Alicia and I have a ghost story from about two weeks ago I have always felt like I've had a connection to the Paranormal I can remember feeling and experiencing this back to around the age of four my house is not haunted or at least to my knowledge because my grandfather built it himself in the 1970s on the land he bought in a mining town regardless when I was little I collected dolls and I loved my dolls I would play with them in the daytime perfectly fine and then put them in my little chest at the end of my bed I was a little jumpy as a child because I always saw things Dart away out of the corner of my eye around age four I had a tall dresser slash wardrobe and I had a few dolls on top including a little drummer boy that always gave me the heebie-jeebies I'm truly shivering just thinking about it I remember that I didn't want to

sleep that much when I was that age something I know I attribute to that freaky ass drummer boy doll I can recall a few nights where I swear it turned looked at me and blinked in the exact moment that it blinked at me paralysis came over me no oh this is such a bummer because it's supposed to be it just reminds me of Christmas you know like the song The Little Little Drummer Boy like you're just supposed to feel good but instead it's it's kind of given me it's reminding me of that monkey that has the like oh I'm also imagining it's not blinking at her it's winking at her and it's like about to happen and the second it does go down yeah um I also had a run-in with a trickster ghost in my freshman dorm room I like to think it was a guy and it said my roommate's names and woke them up from naps a lot by touching them I personally got lucky enough to have my wardrobe door slammed at random times as the door slams

great timing thank you um even though I was always kept my wardrobe doors closed oh interesting so it was like an open and slam um this ghost also broke my Keurig and made it Brew at the most random times with the lid not being down so just spurt water and only I would be mad I know but it would it is helpful if like you're just like you really are like studying late at night and you need a coffee and all of a sudden the Keurig just starts going you're like oh thank you ghost yes but I mean but they broke it it'd be one thing if it was like yeah 8 A.M you're making me a cup of coffee or yeah 1am whatever she says it only started working correctly when I left that room interesting okay skipping ahead to two weeks ago I was laying in bed at home around 2 A.M and managing to fall asleep after hanging out with my family pretty late yay for College spring break I fell asleep really fast and everything seemed fine

for some reason I woke up because I felt something looking at me uh oh I opened my eyes and saw a fuzzy static looking black figure right next to my bed I was laying on my side and the head of it was almost right next to my face my eyes were wide no no that is my fear that's like when you when you're laying on one side and you turn to land on the other when you're in bed I never want to open my eyes because I'm like now that I'm not facing in I'm facing out what could be standing next to me like even I left the fear of like if I turned right now and I saw someone looking at me I would be so freaked out but yeah being in bed because you're you're laying flat you're probably under the covers you can't there's no quick they're blocking you're out yes okay so this figure is standing right next to face to face with Alicia my eyes were wide open at that point but I could not

move I recall this next part so clearly I saw its eyes which looked like concave black holes and as soon as I registered what it was I heard a noise that could have either been a whisper or a hiss and then a whoosh past me and the thing disappeared I think I passed out at that point because the next thing I remember after checking my phone and shutting my eyes was the morning light coming in my real stuff from fear or probably yeah or possession who knows oh God you never saw that yeah my room has not felt the same since and I have no idea what what I experienced I felt threatened but not exactly afraid when this event happened and after the only other encounter I've had was when I visited Lebanon Valley College on a school trip to Harrisburg and long story short I woke up in the morning with three scratches that Drew a little blood

hello dear ghostesses I've been listening to your podcast for about quite a while now and I love it I recommend it to everybody now and well I recommend it to everybody that I know in the encounters episodes are some of my fave and I thought I'd finally sit down and share my own experiences I'm a professional actor and after graduating college started working an old theater in Virginia the theater was founded in the 1930s and the buildings were used for performances rehearsals and accommodations are all incredibly historical and haunted some stories include people seeing full ghostly figures on vintage furniture used to set pieces being touched or pushed when

been staring at you at night because I'm like jealous how's your Helix mattress so I keep grabbing your kneecap and your little toesies uh I had to sleep facing the door because as soon as I turned over I'd get a chill up my spine then I'd always stare at the corner of the left of the door until I felt fell asleep because the darkness there sometimes looked like the shape of a tall man watching me watch him as the weeks went by I started waking up with a start at exactly 4 AM every night the bed beneath me shaking as that someone had shoved or kicked me awake my heart would be pounding and I would be covered in sweat I'd flick all the lights on journal and then I would go back to sleep so that I could wake up in the morning to go to work I started it started happening so frequently that one day I brought it up to the other girls in our dressing room that's when they all looked at me why died and said that's been happening to you too turns out each of us girls had been feeling

like our beds were being kicked and us being kicked awake at 4am on the dot it really freaked all of us out there it's the fact that it was happening to everyone at the same exactly everyone and being kicked it's not just everyone wakes up yeah at 4am everybody feels like the shaking or being kicked away like it's a violent act yeah there are a lot of spiritual people in the Arts so I suspect that the spirit was upset with the disrespect to the portrait and we all felt that acutely we asked everyone to stop messing with a portrait and after that the activity slowed down oh then this past year I was switched to a room on the third floor of the building right below the attic the attic is so [ __ ] creepy that I actually can't even explain it I've gone up there to find broken glass a bare mattress in the dark a giant paper mache head staring out the entrance lots of activity up there folks say and so once I got moved

into my room my new room I started hearing weird [ __ ] scratching on my ceilings and creaking boards above me no like someone was standing in the Attic right above my head then I started feeling the kick again at 4am them I'd wake up to what seemed like a darker than regular Darkness right next to my bed then I would turn the lights on and calm myself down soon I spoke out loud to whatever it was that was doing this asked them to stop and smoke cleansed my room I felt safer after that after the show closed and I left for another contract at another theater I got a text from one of the other actors who stayed on the third floor they said they'd heard noises from the attic most notably like someone was sprinting from one end to another backwards back and forth but when they went up to check nobody was there I don't know who it was that was haunting this in but I don't think the founder of the theater would kick people's beds and Sprint through the

been listening ever since I'm on episode 18 and I wanted to share a story of a time that I went to the other side ooh my grandfather raised me until the age of six and sadly then died of psoriasis of the liver he was a devout Catholic and believed that through the rosary we could all be saved one night he called me into his room right before he died and said the prayer and the rosary and in the end added that he will always be with me no matter what six years and six months down the road I was riding my bike at a crosswalk and the girl who was driving ran the red light and hit me head on I was thrown about a hundred feet oh my God whoa and skidded the rest of the way the impact killed me and I remember complete silence but it was peaceful I also remember looking down and seeing my lifeless body laying there as the

girl got out of her truck out of her car to come to me and was slapping me and doing a full-on thing trying to revive me and then I looked up to see my grandfather who had passed away standing there in his prime years he looked like he had been certain like he had when he was serving in World War II he was in his prime he looked happy he looked healthy and I saw a field of luscious green grass I ran up to my grandfather and said grandpa I want to be here with you he looked at me and said it is not your time son you need to go back by that time the paramedics had arrived and they hooked me up to the defibrillator which with each shock I felt my grandfather hug me and each time the shock happened I got closer to my body my grandpa looked at me and said I know like I I told you earlier I was sweating and I I like truly have chills oh my

gosh this is just the feeling of the grandfather hugging yeah all the different Believers giving the shocks I just can't yeah and like the feeling of like it fading the hug fading as you're like returning to your body yeah yeah my grandpa looked at me and said I love you gave me one final hug and I ended up waking up in the ambulance but then I went into a coma for seven days when I recovered I went home and I slept in the basement in my room in my room there was a shadow that would stand by my closet I felt uneasy about it but I would look above me and I would see a face covered by a bandana and I felt comfortable around him as if he was protecting me from the shadow in the corner by my closet there was also another tall figure that would Pace the hallways by my wall he was extremely tall and each time he passed he would turn his head to the side and look at me he had glowing red eyes everything in my room would shut off
