death in 2016 the body of a man who for the sake of privacy was CH his name was changed to Daniel mcent and that's what we will refer to him as for this story Daniel mcent in 2016 was found outside of his home in Vestavia Hills Alabama the police were called immediately and the area was taped off determined a crime scene officers combed the lawn and spoke to neighbors to determine what had happened as they were combing the lawn they discovered a rifle discarded in the grass a few feet away from Daniel's body no one in the neighborhood heard a gunshot no one saw anything suspicious and from what neighbors told the police Daniel had recently fallen into a bit of depression and in addition they recalled seeing a more unted crowd starting to go to Daniel's house recently that they believed he had gotten involved with drugs okay so was there a question of whether he was murdered or if it was a self-inflicted

so there was also his Livin partner earlier in that year had died and that like after her death then the onset of all these things happened so it seemed like he had really withdrawn and become depressed and perhaps turned to drugs so everyone kind of was like he took his own life yeah and like when the police asked there was a unanimous people believe that Daniel had died by Suicide the police had to finish the investigation but they too were like that seems like like the most logical explanation and forensics came back determining that there was only one set of fingerprints on the rifle and they belonged to Daniel the police were basically like okay that seems pretty set closed yeah it's a suicide but the lead investigator had one problem and it was a pretty big one the coroner made a note that the gunshot Woods entry was on the back side of Daniel's skull so back here which is really abnormal for a suicide didn't he have a rifle next to him

that's impossible you can't contort like that right most suicides you have either to the side of the head or the front so due to this the police were like we can't close the case we can't safely and without doubt call it a suicide yeah so then they start to investigate the case as a homicide they ruled out any neighbors any exes any other people close to Daniel but time kept passing and they were no closer to finding an answer and in order to give Daniel's family some piece they offered to release the body to Daniel's family so they can have a proper burial but apparently they kept Daniel's head for evidence because that's for the gunshot wound West okay which I'm like do you really need that like I feel like you have the ballistics you have the bullet probably and then IM you take photos why would you keep the skull unfortunately though because the police could not prove any Foul Play Daniel's death certificate because like at a certain point they have to put a cause of death on the death certificate mhm they wrote presumed suicide okay because
