Today's episode of Encounters is a quite unsettling

Oh, yeah. You picked it. Doppelganger. Doppelgangers. I have a surprise for you at the end of this episode.

You found my doppelganger? There are so many people who have emailed us saying, "I think I found Corinne's doppelganger." and we're going to go through and compare and see I just spit everywhere.

Very spooky. It is a cold and chilly day in the Two Girls One Ghost office.

It is, and you know what? I'm going to give you some ASMR real quick. What are you going to do? So, Celsius has this new flavor called cherry cola and I'm so excited to try it. Oh, you've never tried it before? No, the cherry cola one? Well, I've never actually tried Celsius at all. Oh.

1:00

I feel like you should be sponsored by Celsius cuz you drink it every single day. Oh, that slaps. Celsius should sponsor us. This is a free advertisement. Yeah. Want to try it? I don't know if we can. It has all the things I'm allergic to.

Flavors, yeah. So good.

[laughter]

I also I'm going to go to the gym after this.

are they caffeinated or something?

energy drinks. Oh, cuz I feel like people drink them and become obsessed with them and I didn't really understand what it Yeah, they're energy drinks. So, I love coffee, but sometimes it's too acidic for me and like hurts my stomach. Whereas like this feels refreshing to me.

Huh. But I'm going to the gym after this cuz I'm a gym rat and I want some energy. Is it like Red Bull? Yeah, what does it taste like? Does it taste like This tastes like cherry cola. Okay. This I feel like I'm drinking soda. One day I'll find a flavor and I'll try it. I'm just going to hold it. Hi, everyone. This is Two Girls One Ghost.

Two Girls One [sighs] Ghost.

know. I feel like I said that with like, and like with muscle. I said it with muscle. Oh, I I tell Noah I've been

2:00

working on it for months where I say, "Show me your muscles." Oh. And now when I say I say, "Show me your muscles." And he goes, Oh. He like shakes his fist.

He knows. Doing some heavy lifting.

That's Keren.

Hi. I'm Sabrina. And today's episode, today's [clears throat] episode of Encounters is a quite unsettling topic. You picked it cuz you're a sicko. And I'm kind of scared of it. But I might be having the issue. Doppelganger. Doppelgangers. You should never meet your doppelganger. Mhm. They say you die if you do. Yeah, if you come in close contact. It's kind of wild how many stories we have of people seeing other people's doppelgangers, like roommates and everything like that. Cuz mimic versus doppelganger feel so similar, but like truly watching your roommate or someone walk in and talk to you or get in bed next to you.

And it's not them. Creepy. We um we uh

3:00

we on TikTok, I don't know if you saw this, but I love this. This is like not a scary doppelganger situation, but on TikTok this girl was posting and she was like, "I live in this town in North Carolina and I walked into a restaurant the other day and someone called me by the name, like I'm making it up, like Sarah. And it's not the first time I've been called Sarah. And she's like, "In multiple places in my town people call me Sarah." And she But it's just this one town. But just this one town. So she's like, "I need to find Sarah. There is someone in this town who looks just like me and looks like people."

phone [snorts] books anymore. Like it doesn't exist.

was TikTok. They literally found her. Do they look alike?

And they look so much alike and people were like, "This is so cool. You just found like a twin who everyone like says you're like in the same town that you can go and hang out with. Cuz I've seen a lot of TikToks where people will like respond. They'll like stitch a TikTok and be like, "Are you me?" Cuz they like look exactly the same, but it's it's not

4:00

obviously in the same town. That's so Ooh. Isn't that cool? That is very cool. And I was like, "What if you guys become best friends?" What if you were twins separated at birth?

[laughter]

I get told a lot that I remind people of someone else. But like it's never the same person. It's just like I think I'm generic. Well

And I remind a lot of people of someone else in their life. [clears throat] I have a surprise for you at the end of this episode. You found my doppelganger? No, I There are so many people who have emailed us saying, "I think I found Corinne's doppelganger." And we're going to go through and compare [laughter] and see. I just spit everywhere. I literally have an email I I labeled it CD, Corinne doppelganger, so you wouldn't know what it was in the inbox. Oh, now I'm so tempted to look at it. I won't.

We'll get there. Okay. Okay, you start. You have more than me. Oh my god, this

haunted land (with ghost photo)

one is terrifying. Okay. And it has a photo. This is from Tess, and it's called "You're Awesome." First time email, recent listener, totally hooked from

5:00

2023. And it began with the creepy photos, and in all caps Tess wrote, "Did that grab your attention?" Yes, Tess, it did. Clearly. Hi, you said send emails, so here I am. The photos I sent you are from the backyard of my house. I live in a small town in Alberta, Canada, and our house was built in 2010, so not your typical haunted house. I have been seeing ghosts for as long as I can remember and could sit down at the campfire and tell you tales for hours, but for now I will tell you about this property and some of the things that have happened here. When we built this house, our then 8-year-old son wanted his room to be in the basement. So, we complied, but we also had a backup option of him being able to sleep in his playroom, which had his old bunk bed in it. He was very happy to sleep in the basement, feeling very grown-up. And this is not a dark dingy basement. It's a walk-out and has several large windows lining the back of the house. After a few months of his independence, I woke up one morning to find him sleeping upstairs. And when I asked him why, he just said, "I felt like it." But

6:00

I knew there was something more to it. And I knew that in time he would tell me. He stayed upstairs at night for a few weeks before deciding to go back to his room in the basement. After a few weeks, I heard him come up and go into his game room, and I could see fear in his eyes, and thought maybe he had a bad dream. So once again, I asked him. And this time he told me that they were red eyes looking at him through the basement window. Ew. Oh, that's so creepy. Cuz like you're underground. This thing is stalking you. Well, it's a walk-out basement. Oh.

But yeah. Still. I was scared. Imagine like the little tiny window where like something's crouched down looking. I didn't want to scare him, so I told him that I would keep the curtains closed at night and that he could sleep upstairs for as long as he would like. After about a week, he said he was ready to go sleep downstairs again, but asked if I would have a campout with him in his room that night. So very excitedly, we set up his room and had a little campout. Long after he fell asleep, I got up and was walking from his room to

7:00

the washroom when I glanced towards the window. Somehow I forgot to close the curtains. And there, I saw what he was talking about. Two red glowing eyes staring at me, and every hair on my body stood on end. And then poof, the eyes were gone. A whisper somehow escaped my mouth and I told it to leave him alone and never come back. It never did, at least no one ever saw it again. And after that, my son was happy to stay in his room at night. I always have and always will surround him with healing loving light, and I never felt like it was going to harm anyone, but I didn't have a great feeling about it. But the spooky did not stop there. My son and I always played a game where he would try and and up on me, and I'd always see him coming, but I played along just the same. So, one day, I could see him crawling around the pool table, then to the stairs, towards me in the kitchen, surely enough to try and startle me. But, I kept going to let him do his thing. When he reached the top of the stairs, he went left towards the bedrooms.

8:00

I waited in the kitchen for him to come, and then out of the corner of my eye, I see him dart back and into the laundry room, which is when I decide to catch him in the act, and I creep up to the laundry room and jump into the doorway and yell, "Boo!" Only, he's not in there.

[sighs]

So, I think he went into the garage. I open the door, but he's not in there, either. I call for him, and he comes running out of the master bedroom, laughing that he got me. It was then that it dawned on me that if I was not chasing him, then who or what was I chasing? Did I just try and scare a ghost? It does happen. In our house, we hear footsteps, doors closing, and voices all the time, and it's not uncommon for the spirits to use one of our voices to call us. And then, of course, when you go to see what that person wants, that person says, "I didn't call you." Very haunted house. Clearly.

to the pictures I sent to you. Our Nest Cam picks up some strange things, and every time it does, I screenshot it. The one with the white flying figure is one of the most interesting shots I've taken. I don't think it's a bug, but you

9:00

can be the judge. And then, the last two pictures. They came up in my memories on my phone this summer, and it's from July of last year. I was taking a picture of the small tree and did not see anything in the background. But, when the memory popped up on my phone this summer, I looked at the photo again, and that is when I saw it. I sent you the original and one photo zoomed in. The figure is in a small wooded area behind our house. There are no other houses back there, and I have never seen this. It's not like a real thing that exists in my backyard. What do you think it is? So, love love love your podcast. You two are so much fun to listen to. You do great research and your stories are very interesting. See you on the other side, Tess. What the This looks like Pennywise meets a scarecrow meets Dear David meets a man with a little like beret on his head and a mustache.

this? It looks like it's wearing clothes, but the face looks

10:00

It looks like a scarecrow that has been cast in the play Cats. But doesn't it look So, look. Okay, doesn't that look like a beret and like a nose and a mustache and like eyes? Or just like one of those like flat caps. No, that's definitely like what? And it's not always there. Like that is not just

[gasps and sighs]

And it's like emerging from the woods, but it doesn't look like it has really arms, either. No, it doesn't. And the pants are super baggy. It's wearing like a brown like peacoat almost. Like you can see the lapel. It's so weird. I'm So, I'm listening to this and I'm bummed and glad that Tess didn't see it in the moment. Oh my god, I'd be running for the hills. Horrifying. Is that it?

that there's a lot of energy. What was the height of the red eyes? I don't know. Was it the same height as this scarecrow

11:00

clown? I mean, clearly there's something going on because people are like there's mimics, there's like little doppelgangers, there's little ghosties everywhere. Oh my god, I know. Ooh, the mimic thing. Like the fact that they're both experiencing it.

Yeah. Oh god, I hate this for you. I am curious if there's a little like river behind the woods. Probably. That's a common theme with haunted houses. Yeah. Oh, interesting that you say that cuz there was a stream behind my house growing up. Actually, it was called a brook. Alan Brooke Brooke, named after Alan. Whoever he is. Damn, I can't stop looking at his face. I need to stop. This is so spooky.

Yeah. Anyway, what do you think? What do you see? Let us know.

a mimic in the house

Okay, I have one called "A Mimic Was in My House and I Spoke With It Thinking It Was My Fiancé at the Time." All right, lovely. Hi guys, I recently started listening to the podcast and I've been wanting to share so many stories. I've had so many insane experiences throughout my life, but this one is the top or one of my top scariest, for sure. I'm Allison, I'm 24 years old, and when I was 22, I was living in a house built in the 1850s. It was in a very small historical town in New York with my now ex-fiancé. We were right in the center of town, but we lived across from the train tracks and on the other side was a small plot of woods. It was just him and I living in the house alongside our pets. Was there a little like bumbling creek and brook and these woods?

And Pennywise coming out?

Yeah. It was winter and the snow in New York was by far the worst it has ever been at this point. It was around 8:00 p.m. in the evening and that is when I would do my night routine. And after I get cozy, I would go to bed, I'd watch TV until I fell

14:00

asleep. It was a two-story house and my fiancé at the time, we'll call him M, would spend 24/7 in his office upstairs playing video games. I went into the office to let him know that I was getting ready for bed and I wanted to check in on him because I would never really see him since he was always playing video games. Hmm. Wonder why he's your ex-fiancé. [laughter] I don't remember what we were talking about besides me just saying I'm getting ready for bed, but I do remember we spoke for probably about 2 minutes in his office. I started to leave his office and I turned down the hallway and that is when I heard him following me. And we're still speaking as we make our way down the stairs. I look up because I hear my dog following us. My dog is a little dog and followed me everywhere. Aw. I see M no more than three steps behind me as the dog moves past him and then past me and then down the stairs. I looked because my dog always cuts us off and M was pretty unpleasant in terms of being a person. I wonder why he's your ex-fiancé. I was nervous he would get mad at the dog for cutting him off.

15:00

Good riddance.

To get mad at a dog for passing you? For being a dog? Yeah, good riddance. So I thought he was going to make some rude comment like he normally did, but he didn't. Which that was a first. So my dog went down the stairs and then me and then M. The downstairs opens up into a living room and I go into the bathroom which is to the right of the stairs. Next to the bathroom is the front door. So, I'm looking at the bathroom door. I can see if someone's entering or leaving the house. A weird setup for the bathroom. It used to be a bedroom, but majority of the house burned down and then it was rebuilt and that's how it was rebuilt. My dog follows me into the bathroom. I start flossing my teeth. I see M come up and he's standing in front of the door just staring out the little tiny square window that we have in the door that's eye level to him. He's standing perfectly still, expressionless, just staring out the window. His energy feels eerie, definitely weird for sure. However, M was kind of a weird off-putting person. I didn't really think much of it and in my head I thought, "Freaking weirdo, but

16:00

whatever." Anyway, I start brushing my teeth. He turns around and walks by. My dog starts huffing and puffing asking me to go outside to go potty. I'm trying to wait until I'm done brushing my teeth, but he kept getting louder and more impatient. I didn't want him to have an accident. Aw. So, I step out of the bathroom. I'm facing opposite the direction of the front door. You can see right into the dining room which leads into the kitchen. It's all one big opening. And M is standing in the middle of the dining room now staring out the sliding glass door that leads into the backyard. I'm like thinking now, "Okay, he plays so many video games. He forgot what snow looks like and he's just studying it for once." My dog ran up to him and asked him to take him out. He's not moving. He's just standing there. Still. Staring outside. Super annoyed, I'm brushing my teeth. I'm standing outside of the bathroom door watching him waiting a second to see, is he going to let this dog out considering he's right there?

going to do anything? Nope. Annoyed, I ask, "Can you please let Teddy out?" He

17:00

doesn't look up at me, but he says, "Yeah." So, I walk right back into the bedroom. I finish brushing my teeth and then I start washing my makeup off which takes probably a good 4 minutes. Then I start applying sugar scrub. I'm scrubbing my face. I'm washing I love your routine. I need to do this routine. It seems like it feels nice. I wish someone else could do the routine for me. I could just I think I literally get a facial. Yeah. Yeah, that's I guess that's what it is. I need to get a facial. Then I start applying sugar scrub, I'm scrubbing my face. It took probably another 2 minutes, probably. And then I pee, I wash my hands, another 2 minutes, probably. And I just realized my dog, who's always next to me, isn't. And I'm wondering if maybe he just put himself to sleep on my couch after being let back in. I was taking a pretty long time. So, I'm calling him, and nothing. I'm like, "Well, surely M brought him back into the house. Teddy goes outside, he does his business ASAP, he runs inside ASAP, especially in the snow. And M knows it's our thing, whoever let him outside has to let him back inside,

18:00

because Teddy never makes it more than 1 minute to go potty, and it's easier to just wait the minute than to leave and then come back to let him back in."

Mhm. Anyway, I'm thinking, "Oh my god, M left Teddy outside in the cold, in the snow, and didn't tell me, and he's back upstairs." So, I'm panicking, wondering if my dog is okay. I run to the sliding glass door, and Teddy is sitting on the step looking in, just wagging his tail. Little Teddy.

up in excitement, starts barking when he sees me. He's completely fine, thank god. I hurry up, I let him in. I feel his feet and his nose and his ears. He's completely fine. I picked him up, I sat him in front of the heater with me for a minute, just in case. Just because he doesn't have frostbite, doesn't mean that he's not cold. Mhm. He was sad waiting so long for his mama, poor baby. As I'm sitting there, I'm thinking of all the ways that I want to yell at him, but I'm trying to keep my cool. Once I calm down a bit, I think maybe there's some reasonable explanation. So, I go back upstairs to the office. Still super angry, but trying to hide it. I say, "Why would you let Teddy

19:00

outside and not bring him back in? You could have at least told me that you were going upstairs, so I could let him back in." He looks at me in shock, a face he never makes. He says, "Huh?" I say, "What do you mean, huh?" I'm annoyed at this point.

course. Can you use words, please? Cool. He looks at me and sounds very concerned for once and goes, Allison, are you okay? I haven't been downstairs since this morning. I've been up here playing video games.

Which is also a crazy sentence in

Yeah. itself. Do you remember coming in here and talking to me? I say, yes, I remember I came in here. We spoke for a bit and then when I left your office, you followed me downstairs. We spoke. I asked you to let Teddy out. You said yes. I assumed you did because he was outside and you never let him back in. He looks at me still in shock and says, Allison, I've been upstairs the entire time. I never spoke to you after you left the room. I did not go downstairs. I did not let Ted out. He's not the type of person to joke or be playful or mess around in any way whatsoever.

anything but play video games. Yeah.

[laughter]

I was with him for 7 years and never

20:00

once did I see him be playful or mess around ever. I thought it was weird. So, I kind of gave like a nervous laugh and I say, stop messing with me. And he looks at me and he's super concerned. He says, Allison, do I This is so manipulative. Allison, do I need to call your parents or take you to the hospital or something?

Ew. Are you okay?

him.

Does your head hurt? Do you feel okay? No, because you're a dickwad. I 100% knew that he was being serious and I started bawling my eyes out. I'm trying to process everything. I say, I I don't know. I feel fine. Nothing feels wrong or anything, but like how did I just imagine speaking to you and seeing you and hearing you and how did Teddy get outside? Right. And he said, maybe I must have been brushing my teeth and thinking about asking him to let Teddy out and maybe subconsciously ended up just letting him out myself. Then when I snapped back into it, I realized he was outside. I went and got him. But I had never had nor have had an experience like this. Yeah. I told him there's no way that happened. I

21:00

absolutely know that I saw him. I heard him. I spoke to him. I then start thinking about how eerie his energy had been when I was downstairs with him. I was wondering if it was something maybe paranormal, so I told Em since I never had anything like this happen before, I'll sleep on it and if something happens tomorrow or I don't feel right, then we can seek medical attention if needed. I go, I lay down in bed, I'm trying to calm down. And as I lay in bed, I'm looking up all the possible causes. That is when for the first time in my life, I learn about mimics. I didn't get too much into researching because it really freaked me out so bad. Like it literally had just happened. So I put my phone down. I turn on the TV. A few minutes into relaxing, I remember I have a camera in the kitchen and [clears throat] it faces into the dining room. Which faces into the living room. Which faces the front door. Right where it all happened. I open up the camera app. I go to the video for the time that this happened. It shows Teddy walking down the stairs first. Then me and then it cuts out. No

22:00

audio. All black screen. For several minutes. When the camera comes back on, it cuts to me sitting in front of the heater with Teddy. Oh my gosh.

Unfortunately, I didn't save the footage because it just didn't show anything. Obviously now I wish I saved it because I could use that when telling this experience. However, I have caught several other creepy things on camera before such as ghosts, ghost faces, orbs, aliens or maybe some sort of creature and even a biblically accurate angel that I still have to this day and I will send that in soon.

A biblically accurate angel is a Horrifying and Oh my god, yeah, they're so creepy. Anyway, this particular mimic experience only ever happened that one time [clears throat] and has never happened again. To this day I can't explain it. I'm assuming it was paranormal as I am a believer of such things. Yeah. But I always do try to rule everything out first. But who knows what that was. I kind of don't want to know. Hope everyone enjoyed this. I sure didn't.

[laughter]

Much love, Allison. Well yeah, cuz like

23:00

feel like you're going crazy and then also your partner is leading you to believe you're even more crazy. But, here's what I think. Sure, it could be paranormal and I definitely think in a way it is paranormal, but I believe things like playing video games are like you get into like a trance-like state. What if M's energy, so like he was like astral projecting in a way, was following Allison downstairs? And I also like

But it's weird that the camera cut out. Like in an astral projection, I get that it's still like paranormal in a way, but it feels it feels like it's giving him too much power. But it's a glitch. Cuz the way he was just standing there. Cuz I'm imagining, you know when you're like busy doing something and you can hear some like you you're having like someone's talking you and you like hear them and like sometimes in your head you're responding, but you're not really out loud saying it cuz you're busy doing something else. Or you're driving and then 20 minutes have passed and you have no idea, but like you somehow got to where you're supposed to. I almost feel like his energy and like in his subconscious he was like, "Okay,

24:00

yeah, I'll go downstairs with her and get ready for bed." But his physical body was like games, addicted. Right. Drool coming from his mouth. The stench of the room.

Cuz that's why like the whole experience he was just like kind of standing there. Yeah. Like it's his energy, but it's not him. Either way, I like the doppelganger version of him better than real him.

[laughter]

Hey, you let the dog out. Yeah.

he did that. Didn't yell at the dog, let the dog out. A decent doppelganger. mimic, time glitch, doppelgänger?

All right. Well, okay, this one's weird and scary and fun. This is from our

26:00

listener Olivia. It's called time glitch or possible mimic doppelganger encounter. Hello, I've started listening to your podcast a ton recently and it's become one of my favorites. I have quite a bit of stories of encounters I've had with the paranormal all my life. I've been sensitive to energies and the other side, but there's one story in particular that always leaves me confused and I try not to talk about it because whenever I do, I feel like I'm being watched. Oh my gosh. Okay, so backstory. This is about three years ago during my senior year of high school and at this point in my life, I was always going out with a group of friends and staying out until sunrise multiple times a week. I didn't have much care in anything I was doing because it was important to me that I made crazy memories. I remember starting freshman year wanting to go to the dances, to football games. I wanted to skip class and do all the things that people would expect you to do during your teenage years. Unfortunately, I didn't have many friends and I've always struggled with social anxiety. So, I never did any of those things that I

27:00

dreamt of doing. But, in my senior year, I made friends and the four of us became extremely close and we did everything together. So, this one night in mid-October, we went out with a group of boys we'd met the week before and I can't remember everything we did that night, but I know it consisted of getting escorted out of a Walmart, Oh. sneaking into a high school soccer game, and at around 11:00 p.m. when we decided to part ways with the boys and head home, the four of us decided, instead of going separate ways, we wanted to have a sleepover. Since it was a spontaneous decision, we needed to make a stop at a few of our houses to grab our essentials like face wash, pajamas, toothbrush, etc. We got to my house and my friend pulled into the driveway and said, "We'll wait for you out here." I climbed out of the backseat, slammed the door, and immediately I felt a weird energy shift. I lived on a pretty desolate street at the time. Not many people would drive down that road. It was dark with only street lamp for the whole road. And it

I know this is about doppelgangers, but I feel like this sets up an alien abduction. There's definitely a rift in energy here.

28:00

And it was almost pitch black on the nights where it was just cloudy. That's how it was that night. Cloudy, dark. I ignored the weird vibes I felt and was just like, "It's late." So, I went into my house, but as I stepped inside, that feeling got stronger. The entire house was dark and the only thing I was able to hear was the soft whoosh from the fan and the quiet snores of my dog. I knew my family was asleep, yet I had this feeling I was being watched. I ran downstairs to my room, immediately turned on the lights cuz I never really liked the dark anyway, and I started to pack my bag as quickly as I could and trying to ignore this uneasy feeling I had in my gut. I told myself I was just anxious to get back to my friends. I ran to the bathroom to grab my toiletries, then back to my room to finish packing, and that's when I got a call from one of the friends that was waiting in the car outside. "Yes?" I answered. "Did you just come outside?" he asked. I was confused what he was trying to ask. I thought he was trying to ask when I would be back outside, but that didn't make sense cuz I'd only been inside for like 5 minutes.

29:00

So, I asked, "What do you mean?" He paused for a second. And then he screamed and hung up the phone. Oh my god. Immediately, I thought they were just trying to prank me, so I grabbed the last of my things and headed back outside. I got outside, turned on my phone's flashlight to see my path back to the car. And I tried opening the door, but it was locked. I rolled my eyes thinking it's a prank. I knocked on the window to tell them let me in. And every time I got close to the window, they'd scream louder and louder. "Let me in!" I yelled. I started to feel unsafe being left outside in the dark by myself, especially with that looming presence and energy that I still felt behind my back. Yeah, and why are they all scre- like the screams make it so much worse? And they're scared of her. I looked my one friend in the eyes and noticed how truly terrified she looked. And that's when I realized this wasn't a prank. They were scared of me. "I'm begging, please let me in. What happened? Guys, what's going on?" This went on for a few minutes before they finally let me into the car. They were clearly shaken up and out of

30:00

breath. So, I'm like, "What the hell just happened?" They look at me and said, "We already saw you." I was so confused. And my friend said, "Right before they called, we saw you. You had a flashlight in one hand and the same blanket and bag in the other. We couldn't see your face though because of the light. But everything else looked just like you. I even unlocked the door to let you in. And instead of coming into the car, you walked right past us and ducked behind the car." Oh oh my god. The horror. The horror. "That's when we called you when you were still inside. I was terrified. According to my friends, everything looked exactly the same as when I actually came back outside, which is why when I came back outside for real, they wouldn't let me in. I wouldn't either. That's terrifying. And they're just sitting there in the car like thinking that This thing is crouched behind them that is going to pop up in the window or something. They weren't sure if it was actually me walking up to the car, and to this day I still have no idea what actually was happening. Was it a time

31:00

glitch? Was it an evil spirit? And if it was, what were they trying to do? Just scare my friends? Were they trying to lure them out of the car? I have no idea. I no longer talk with two of those friends anymore, but the one I still talk to swears this was not a prank. And I believe it's true because I remember how I felt that night. And I know that if you're alone, but feel like you're not truly alone, it's most likely because you aren't. From Olivia.

Dun dun dun. Oh my god, that is so scary.

That terrifying? The act of her doppelganger. Like this is why I don't believe it's just like a time glitch because there was like this malicious act of Of crouching. Yeah, past the car and deliberately crouching behind.

Right. And it can Yeah, it's not just like her residual energy, like the thought of her doing that soon like made that energy happen and then she just kept walking and disappeared or whatever. Like It seems evil. It is trying to scare them. Or get them to come out and be like, "What are you doing back there?" Luring them into the dark. And the

32:00

energy shift, like the fact that Olivia felt really weird. And like it feels like they're parked from the description Olivia gave, it feels like they're parked like a bit down the driveway. Yeah. Like it's still a decent clip away from like the true light of the house.

Who would you rather be? Would you rather be inside the car having just experienced that with three other people or Olivia trapped outside of the car trying to get in? God, I don't know. I'd rather be in the car. Cuz then you're you're locked inside the car with other people.

people, and you can drive away. And to feel like something else is stalking you and looming outside and you're like trapped outside and your friends are not letting you in.

And they're scared of you. She stayed longer at the car than I think I would have. I think if they didn't let me in within like 30 seconds, I would be booking it back into the house and then calling them and saying what the But then she's going back inside her house where everyone's sleeping. And like the energy was also weird inside the house. I don't know. I'd rather be in the car. Yeah, horrifying. But also love it.

haunted war ship

This is a haunted warship story. Oh. Hello ghoulish girlies. My name is Jasmine and I'm currently writing to while out at sea. Hi Jasmine. This is a story about some haunted happenings a friend of mine has been experiencing who we will call Sarah. I've been a year-long listener and I decided that this deployment I will bring you girls along for the ride. So, I downloaded a ton of the episodes to listen to throughout my day.

honored. I know, that's so nice. Might I say I love the company you girls bring from listening to your show. Being an active military member, thank you for your service, and overseas, I get homesick a lot and you ladies bring me comfort. So, in a way, thank you for your service. Well, I

35:00

do my service. No, [laughter] you're doing more of a service than we are. We're scared from our couch in our own homes telling ghost stories.

that we have is

You're facing real Yeah, threats. threats. Plus being spooked out, I feel, is a lot better than being sad. All right, let me get into the story. In order to set the scene, I must tell you that I'm currently deployed on a warship out in the middle of the South China Sea. Every 10 years the Navy does what they call a whole swap and swaps warships designated to different AORs, area of responsibility, around the world. Don't be fooled though, these ships are super old and basically just recycled. The ship we're currently on just came out of dry dock and dry dock means it hasn't seen the sea for at least a couple years. They came from Norfolk Norfolk, Virginia. We learned how to say that. Norfolk.

Virginia and it's called the USS George Washington, also known as suicide ship. Oh,

36:00

Which I just recently learned was because so many sailors have died by suicide while stationed on the ship.

Oh, that's so sad.

[sighs]

So sad. You can look up the actual number of deaths. Just recently we lost a sailor from this.

Oh, my god, this is so sad. He unfortunately jumped out to sea and we were never able to find him. May his soul rest in peace.

Oh. I'm so sorry. So, there's a little backstory on this warship. We sleep in what is called the birthing. It's a huge room full of racks, like bunk beds three high. It can fit up to 100 girls or more in this room. Racks are literally like little cubby spaces. Oh, it's like prison. It's kind of like in Orange is the New Black. It's kind of like prison. Love lovely comparison.

[laughter]

It sounds like what they have in Orange is the New Black.

Yeah. And you can crawl into these cubby spaces. They're not even big enough to sit up in. I also had a prison mat as a mattress. Oh, see, it is like prison. No windows, no openings other than two doors on either side of the birthing to get in

37:00

and out, which are super loud when opening and closing. Anyway, since we're all constantly working separate shifts, red lights are utilized as normal lights to avoid waking others up with the white lights. Now that we have that covered, let's begin. My first night on the ship, I remember having a bad dream. The nights that followed, I kept having dreams about my adoptive mother. They were not necessarily bad dreams, but just kind of caught my attention. Like her spirit were telling me that there was something. Me and my adoptive mother are very in sync. Like when we think of each other, the other one will call in that moment. And I feel

repeatedly, yeah.

Mhm. Feels like a sign. I feel like we definitely have a past life connection. So, I don't take these dreams lightly. But on the third night, I call to check in. She tells me she's fine, nothing unusual. And I'm like, "Okay, that's interesting. Something's trying to give me a message." So then I pray and I carry on. When I mention my bad dream to my friend Sarah, she's already convinced that the ship is haunted based off of this experience. So one morning, Sarah's

38:00

getting ready. I'm learning so much. Sarah's getting ready in her six-pack, which is a small area with three racks stacked high on each side of her. Oh. So everyone gets to say they have a six-pack. That's sick. They also probably do have six-packs. Probably. Then she hears the white lights click on and looks around the corner to find no no there. Nor is there anyone else around her that's awake. I'd like to mention that these light switches are up high above the mirrors going through an aisle. They're only used when someone is actively doing their hair in the mirror because like I said, we had tried to avoid using them and disturbing others while sleeping. It's also a very firm switch, so it's not easily flipped on by accident. Mhm. Sarah says that she got this weird feeling. She turns the lights off. She carries on getting ready. Later that week, her and I are sitting in the common area of this room when another girl we know walks up and says, "Sarah, why are you awake at random hours of the night?" Sarah and I look at each other because me and her after work literally run to the showers and go

39:00

straight to bed. Yeah. We are the two individuals who do not want to miss out on any of our sleep. Right.

12 hours plus a day, 7 days a week for 6 months. Your sleep is a prized possession. At this point in deployment, sleep is a luxury and by 8:00 we are knocked out. Yeah. Sarah turns to her and says, "I don't know what you're talking about." And this girl says, "Yes, I've seen you around midnight just standing in front of my six-pack." Oh, that's so creepy. Keep in mind, this birthing is dimly lit and in some areas it's completely blacked out. So, this means that in this reddish dark lit room, she is seeing my friend standing in front of where she sleeps not saying anything and just casually mentions this and then walks away. Me and my friend are both super creeped out and that is when I tell my friend that maybe she's seeing a doppelganger of you. The strangest thing is Sarah tells me, "This is not the first time someone has seen a doppelganger of her."

40:00

She says that when she was younger, her stepfather was sleeping when he heard her bedroom door open and then sees her go into the restroom. He then tells her mom, "Hey, I thought Sarah was staying the night at your sister's." And my mom turns around and responds, "Yes, she is." Like she wasn't even home. She wasn't home. So he got up to investigate and sure enough Sarah was not there. I was even more intrigued by whatever was on the ship because it was playing similar games. A couple weeks go by and Sarah says she's woken up in the middle of the night because she swore she felt someone sit on the foot of her rack. She was like, I felt a pressure of someone there. She said she was so scared to look because her gut knew that it was impossible for someone to be sitting there because like I mentioned before the cubby spaces are so small, you cannot sit up on them.

Not to mention she sleeps on the highest rack. So climbing up there is not an easy task.

Now she says that she's been waking up at 2:00 a.m. for the past few nights and does not know what that means. She's not very open spiritually, so I'm going to pray for protection over her

41:00

because who knows what this is or who this is. I'm so curious if there are any other listeners out there who've experienced similar stories or stories like this on this ship because I know we are not the first nor will we be the last. Damn. Feel free to share. It would definitely make my time on this ship go by faster listening to other stories and sharing them with friends. Well, that's all I have for you girls. Thank you for reading my haunting on a warship story. Love you girlies. Hope you're having the spookiest of Octobers from Jasmine. This was sent in October, so it's January, I assume. Jasmine might still be on the ship. I don't know. I don't know.

I don't know how long in Yeah. she was. Okay, again this could be another situation of like I know that Sarah is not the most like open paranormal way, but like maybe Sarah's got energy going like shooting out of their body and at night when she's sleeping there's some like part of her that's astral projection and walking around. Cuz like if it happened as when Sarah

42:00

was a kid, too. It was also late at night when she was sleeping.

at this time now. I almost think, okay, what if the astral part of herself is wandering the astral plane of the ship, connecting with the spirits of the ship. She's befriending all the ghosts And befriending all the ghosts, which is why one of them sat on the end of her bed was like, "Hey, astral buddy, when are we going?" And then, when they heard about like the version of Sarah like walking on the ship, it shut that part down momentarily and all the spirits at 2:00 a.m. are like, "What up, Sarah? Where are you?"

Oh, I like that version. That's a really nice, kind, friendly version of what I'm going to assume is not so great, especially given the reputation of that ship. Of that ship and what happens to people. It seems like maybe there's some really bad [clears throat] energy here. Jeez. Dang. That girl just so casually being like, "I seen you at the my rack at midnight, just standing there, staring at me."

43:00

Crazy. This is sad, but I had to look up the number. In May of 2023, they basically decommissioned the USS George Washington because of all the suicides.

Wow. But then they [clears throat] brought it back into operation, I guess.

Yeah, that didn't last long. 2 years of being decommissioned. Jasmine's on it now. 11 sailors died by suicide. It's something with the ship because it's not like this is a unique thing to be deployed for 6 months on a ship. Some are like, this is happening everywhere. I do think the number, like if you look up the number of just suicides in the military, it's pretty high, but being out in the ocean for that long.

Yeah. I mean, there's a lot of careers that do that. Oil rigs. Sad. A ton. Uh, well, you got to keep us updated on if there are any other hauntings and happenings on there. Yeah. Okay, I have one more short one and then we'll we'll review your doppelgangers and have our listeners weigh in if we found your doppelganger.

think people do look like me when people

44:00

show me pictures. I'm like, "Oh, yeah." I could see it in some of them. Some of them I'm like, "Ah, I don't know." What?

I think I found my doppelgänger's name

is from Maddie and it's called, "I think I found out my doppelganger's name." And this is kind of similar to like the TikTok I was talking about. Hello, Corinne and Sabrina. So, I was at breakfast with my mom when someone asked me my name. And it also made me think of something that happened my senior year of high school. So, here's what happened in high school. I was walking down the hall when my guidance counselor pulled me off to the side. I thought something was wrong, but what he said confused me beyond my imagination. He asked if I had been

46:00

driving a minivan in the town we lived in and at the time I didn't drive. I still don't because people drive like idiots, huh. So I told him no and he said, "Oh, well there must be someone who looks a lot like you that lives here, too." Then Easter Sunday comes and goes and the next school day after the holiday, I'm in the special needs room helping out with some of the kids and one of the teachers comes up and you'll never guess what she says. She asks, "Were you at such and such church on Easter Sunday?" I tell her no, I wasn't but that I think I have a doppelganger and that my guidance counselor also saw someone that looked like me. We had a good laugh and that was kind of just that and I hadn't heard anything about my doppelganger since until today. Like I mentioned, I was at breakfast with my mom and this older lady who was sitting by herself stopped me when I went to go fill my water bottle. She said, "Excuse me, is your name Sarah?" Why are so many Sarah's in this episode?

know and I also made up the name Sarah for the Tik Tok story.

Yeah.

47:00

Maybe I must have seen that. I don't know. I don't know. Subliminal. "Sarah, are you listening?" I tell her, "No, sorry." The place we are at is literally a couple minutes down the road from the town where my doppelganger has been seen when I was in high school. So maybe my doppelganger goes to this restaurant that I was at today and maybe the lady got into a conversation with that Sarah and wanted to finish it. I don't know but that's all I have for today. See you on the other side from Maddie. Oh, what if it's Sarah? Or Sarah. Crazy.

Dang, that is crazy. And they've still never met. This is years. Like this is over Yeah. many

clearly both still live in the town, it seems. And must be around the same age. Mhm. Is this North Carolina? Is this the Tik Tok? This is like the Go to the church and ask for Sarah cuz you know what church it is now. That's true but that was years ago. Who knows if they still go to that church. I feel like people commit pretty hard to churches. But if you're in high school,

48:00

Well, that's true. with your family. Yeah. Dang. You're so close to finding out. Are you curious about your

Corinne's doppelgänger lineup

doppelgangers?

Yeah, I am. Okay. So, we're going to start with Do you want me to follow along or do I just look at yours? I'll show it to you.

Okay. Okay. We'll start with ones that are deceased.

[laughter]

This is from our listener Mary. Hello, I've been listening to you and watching the podcast for a few months now. And I was on a find a grave website trying to find baby names for my sister as one does. I love that as an idea of how to find names.

That's a great idea. When I stumbled upon this photo of my fourth great-great grandmother. She reminds me a lot of Corinne. Am I your grandmama? And she goes, "Sorry if you think she's scary-looking and don't see the resemblance.

[laughter]

But it's also an old photo. But here's the photo. Her name is Mary West." Oh, I I see it. I see it. You know what? I feel like I look a decent amount like my aunt Vicky and she looks a lot like my aunt Vicky. We'll add these photos into

49:00

the YouTube video. I feel like the face shape is definitely there. The face shape. I think that's the theme with a lot of these is the face shape. Nice round face. Okay, now this one makes me laugh. Okay. This is from Jen. "Holy doppelganger, Batman. Greetings, Ghost a huge fan of your podcast. I value and appreciate your openness to your personal lives and experiences. Today, I watched the YouTube video of the episode where Corinne told Sabrina she was pregnant and it was the best thing ever. I came across a website on the story of Theodore Durant. I'm not sure if you've covered him before. I'm pretty sure he's a killer, like a murderer. Click on it and scroll down to the picture of his sister. Corinne looks exactly like her. It's so spooky."

god, I'm sisters with a serial killer? Okay. Maud Allen. I see I love the name Maud. I know, I love the name. Definitely face shape, I feel like nose and mouth definitely more similar here.

Yeah, this we're getting closer here.

We're getting closer. Should I do my hair just like that? This is your

50:00

Halloween costume. You See, you do. We'll do side by sides, Jamie. Wow.

[laughter]

Okay, I see that one. These are Oh, but I'm shocked at them being like old photos. I feel like Well, now we have a person

just assuming like, oh, I saw this person on Facebook. Well, this one is a present-day one. Now, this is your living doppelganger.

Are you just going to like show pictures of some random person? No, it's a It's a public figure. Okay.

Yeah. [laughter] I was like, I don't think that that we should do that. Unless it's you. Hi girlies, I just recently discovered your podcast and I'm obsessed. I listen to you every chance I get. So, here's something funny that happened. After binging a bunch of episodes on Spotify, I finally decided to watch one of your YouTube videos. And when I saw Corinne, I was like, hold on, she looks so familiar. It was driving me nuts that I literally had to pause the video to figure it out. Naturally, I ended up creeping on your Instagram and then it hit me. Corinne looks so much like someone I know from my home in Quebec. She's a public figure named Her name is Corinne. Corinne St.

51:00

Michel. Her IG is Corinne St. Michel. Maybe it's just me, but the resemblance is wild plus your names sound even alike. Coincidence? No, I don't My dad is French Canadian, so maybe we're cousins.

you're cousins. Here, now we can show you Corinne. Corinne. I see it. Oh, yeah, we do look very similar. There's like certain angles where you do and don't. Like this one, you don't look like her. No. But then So, I don't think I look like her in that one. I think the first one

eyes you do.

looks more. The The eyes of Oh, interesting. Corinne, let's see. Go to her Instagram. You know who my celebrity doppelganger is? Is and I can't remember her Is it Jennifer Stone? She's the best friend on Wizards of Waverly Place. Oh, yeah. I do think I look a lot like her. It's the eyes. There's I think there's some resemblance. I think the eyes. Otherwise, I feel like she I feel like we don't.

[laughter]

I feel like she has a much more like pronounced jawline. Her hairline is

52:00

different. Her face shape is different, but her eyes but her eyes are very similar. And she's got brown

Jennifer Stone? Yeah. The redhead? Yeah, from Wizards of Waverly Place. I don't know if we still look alike, but we when we were Oh, I see you go to the Yeah, yeah, exactly. I was going to say when we were younger we looked alike very similar.

Yeah, I could see that. Wow, okay. So, who does Corinne look most like or who looks most like Corinne? Who's Corinne's doppelganger aside from the doppelganger that exists already and is haunting you? But again, I think that's

Yeah, I have seen a couple people like with my family, too, walking around like there I remember specifically one time we were walking I think we were like in Florida or something. My whole family's walking and a girl walks by who looks just like me and we all turn around and are like

[sighs and snorts]

Did they turn around, too? No, I don't think she noticed me. But we're like holy that's the same person. You never know. You never know. Um but if you do see your doppelganger, don't go say hi unless you want to and

53:00

then tell us what happens.

Oh, I think that yeah, the scenario is it It depends.

in the grocery store? Are they at the same restaurant? Are they in your bathroom with you?
