Karen and Sabrina I recently started listening to your podcast and at this point I'm completely addicted I am currently on episode 20 so that's early you have a lot more to listen to episode 20 blackeyed kids it immediately brought to my mind my experience although it's not as typical as others may have experienced blackeyed kids and may not even be a true blackeyed child maybe it was something worse this happened quite a few years ago 15ish actually my boyfriend now husband and I had moved into our first ever apartment together it was a three-bedroom on the second floor of an old brick building in my small Hometown in Western New York this building is over 100 years old and started as a hotel oh it's been through various transform over the years I'm

the lightest sleep I would be hyper aware of every noise and movement around me I was asleep but I was still awake if that makes sense so this particular morning my nephew and I had passed out on the couch together in my living room after my sister dropped him off and I was in this super light Slumber and that's when the dream happened I'm laying on the couch and I open my eyes to see my little baby nephew standing over me and his eyes are pitch black I shot off the couch as fast as I could and I darted behind the recliner that was off in the corner and my nephew followed me crouched on all fours on the other side of this recliner and I should note that this living room in my dream is arranged the exact same way it is in real life we were at a standoff just staring at each other waiting for the other person to make the move I remember not really being scared just wondering what the hell this thing was its eyes were so so so unnerving all black and shiny but had no reflection in them thinking about it now I really don't understand how I kept my cool the dream but finally my quote unquote nephew made

giggling and getting scared and I like to blame the cold weather on my Goosebumps while listening to the stories you tell is this a new dearra or is this the dearra that I met a couple times in various breweries oh in Boston I wonder I don't know another cold weather dearra yes so I'm going to start with two stories from my childhood and then I'll tell you more about my more recent experiences when I was a young child my mother used to keep a journal of all the weird things that were happening in our house when I was 6 years old we lived in a quiet neighborhood consisting of about six or seven houses on the outskirts of Bigg rville Pennsylvania one night when I was 6 years old and sleeping I woke up for no reason at all my bed was facing the door and as I laid there sleeply I saw a tall dark figure with a top hat and a bag under his arm just walk past my bedroom door very slowly the bathroom was right next to my room at the end of the hallway which is where he he walked into and so I thought maybe it was my dad and I got up to check but when I got
