My sister blurted out in front of everyone, "That's where they burn the bodies." It turned out she was correct, but at 11 years old, my sister had no prior information.

Hello. Hi.

This is Two Girls One Ghost.

Two Girls One Ghost. And we are your hosts. This is

That's Karin. Hello.

I'm Sabrina. And you a week ago, but yesterday in our in our time of recording, you

timeline.

In our timeline, cuz we're all in different timelines. Hello. Um you recommended a show.

Did you already

I watched two episodes last night.

I guess there's only four out in current

Widow's Bay, for people who don't know.

Yes.

1:00

I do

Oh, it was a Patreon episode. If you're like, "Wait, I wasn't episode of

We talked about it on Patreon.

a a Patreon exclusive or like a subscriber exclusive episode that we talked about Widow's

many episodes, I can't remember where we talked about Widow's Bay.

I've been seeing it everywhere. Litha had recommended it to me saying that I could watch it with my husband who's scared of everything that he would be able to handle it.

I'm shocked.

He tapped out pretty quick. It became just [laughter] my show.

It's so good. I love it.

in Rockport, Massachusetts.

It reminds me a lot of Marblehead. Like the bar that they're in reminds me so much of Maddie's.

Oh, yeah. Well, did you recognize the background? Cuz I brought you to a Rockport like once or twice when you first came and visited.

Yeah. I love Rockport.

Yeah.

But it's such a good show. The episode where he spends the night in the hotel,

Oh my god, that's so fun.

But isn't it like fun to watch too? Cuz did you see what I meant when I said like that it's not outward and like blatant all the nods that they're making to horror movies, but like if you've seen enough, you know exactly like the different tropes or the different scenes that they're referencing in it. Or at

2:00

least that was my understanding cuz I'm like

It's scary.

It is scary.

It's a good show. I really enjoy

not really that many jump scares. It's not like a jump scare scary.

Are you kidding? The hotel episode has so many jump scares. What? The crawl space? Was that a jump scare?

[gasps]

I mean, you knew he was there. Okay, I think maybe my definition of a jump scare is different. Like my me for jump scare is like it wasn't in frame.

Mhm.

But yes, there are moments where like you see something and then that something does something extra creepy that is like your heart is racing. You want to crawl out of your skin.

I'm so good. I'm a big fan. I highly recommend.

Um the premise of it is there's a spooky coastal New England town and the mayor

It's like an island.

Yeah, it's an island and the mayor is trying to make it a travel destination and like the next Martha's Vineyard.

But the town has like a curse.

And it is it's haunted and yeah, the curse is it's great.

Awakened.

Yeah, the fog. It's great. I love it. I

3:00

Thank you for the recommendation.

Yeah, you're welcome. Well, thank you to the internet and Talitha.

Yes.

And all the different clips I've seen.

It's on Apple TV for people who want to watch. But um until we chat about it more next time, we have some great stories to share. And I actually I have to start because a couple weeks ago, maybe months ago now, I can't remember, I was like, I swear the person who sent us that Ouija board sent us an email.

And about the Ouija board?

And we could I could not find it. Remember? I spent like the whole episode searching. And I could not find it. And yesterday when I was prepping for this episode, I put in a search term that you would never imagine would pull up this email, but I found the freaking email from the listener who sent us this Ouija board in the mail.

Okay, so as context, we'll tell you that the theme for this episode, for this encounter is where we read your stories, is historic places, like kind of places with some heavy dark history.

which was inspired by someone's story that they shared on Campfire Stories.

4:00

About like the German underground.

Yeah, I think we were like, "Oh, wait, this would be a good theme." And then

So, I was searching WW2, World War II.

WW WWE

Ouija board

[laughter]

Um and this email from Isabel came up. And remember when I was trying to search for it, I searched like grandmother Ouija board, great-grandmother Ouija board. It's literally like the first

great grandmother's ouija board

sentence. I sent you my great-grandmother's Ouija board. But I I was like, the fact that it came up while searching for this episode means it was meant to be read in this episode.

But I was also like, what the heck? Why was it hidden like that?

know. Anyway,

Gmail, Gmail you can find things. If it were Outlook, it would be another story. I have a real beef with Outlook. I actually [ __ ] on Outlook like the last [laughter] time

to use it for so long and you still

But I had to use it for one or two jobs and I will never

[laughter]

never forget.

You hate it. Okay. Well, as context, a couple months ago Corinne and I went to the PO box and you we were opening things in the studio. And as you're

5:00

opening one package, you go, "No."

Well, it because it was like one of those thin flat envelopes and I reach in and I just feel this like hard thin wood.

Wood. Like an eighth of an inch thick and I'm like, "What else could fit this description?" And it's a Ouija board.

[ __ ] Ouija board. Someone sent us a Ouija board.

And it just came with a like a short little thing saying like this was my grandmother's Ouija board. She used it all the time. That was it. And we were like

it say?

We need more.

"I haven't gotten any bad vibes from it."

Yeah.

But I don't want to keep it.

Yes. So, we're like, But we didn't have any other information. So, now we finally have more. Isabel sent us email.

And also as you can see, it has been heavily used.

Very heavily used. We did not get the planchette with it. We just got the board.

And we have never used it. Okay, Isabel says, "Hello ghostesses, I sent you my great-grandmother's Ouija board. I'm sorry, Karen, but I've been meaning to write in

apologize. This is actually like for some reason I also got good vibes from it. It was like the one haunted item someone has sent us that I

6:00

was like, "This can stay in my house and we'll put it on display."

It's beautiful.

Which feels weird to say. Most of the stuff goes home. Almost everything goes back with Sabrina and me.

Okay, she wrote, "I have been meaning to write in for about 7 months now, but haven't found myself able to write whenever I sat down. Until today when I finally had a strong urge to write in while listening to some older episodes. On top of the sudden inspiration, I was listening to your episode Boston The Common part one, and guess what my great-grandmother's name was? Mary Dyer, which I guess we must have covered someone named Mary Dyer in that episode."

Was she not one of the murder victims of the strangler?

Oh, she's the one who's the statue of her. She was like the Quaker

yeah, the

hanged for like defying laws

in the common from the hanging

tree. That's right. That's right.

Okay, amazing. Already history here. Ties.

[laughter]

Isabel wrote, "I don't know much about her Ouija board as I only learned about it shortly before my great-uncle passed this past April. My great-uncle told me that Mary, his mother, used the board and had seances

7:00

to try to connect with soldiers lost in World War I and World War II. Based on this, I'm guessing the board was acquired in the early 20th century."

I just got chills.

Isn't that so cool?

Oh my god, yeah.

I personally did not feel that the board has anything attached to it and none of the relatives that have lived with the board have had any paranormal stories for me to share about it. Another coincidence about the board and my great-grandmother was that your episode 287, which was called Paranormal Lineage and Inherited Haunted Objects, came out on my birthday, and while listening, I thought for sure you had just opened my package with the Ouija board only to realize you opened it months later.

[laughter]

But, here's a story about how your podcast haunted me. Your podcast is without a doubt haunted. We agree. We don't just say it for shits and giggles.

No.

But she said it's not always a scary thing. The day of my great uncle's funeral, the one who I inherited that Ouija board from, I was sitting in my kitchen eating and listening to Two Girls One Ghost when a lamp given to me by said great uncle suddenly turned on.

8:00

And now this lamp is touch activated, but it was all the way across the room from me and it has never done that before and has not done it since that day. Later that day, we were at the gravesite, which is a family plot where my great grandmother, grandmother, and great aunt have their ashes all buried there as well. My dad brought each of them their favorite flowers and right after everyone said goodbye and my great uncle's ashes were in the ground and covered, somehow all of these flowers all simultaneously bloomed. None of these were the same type of flowers and every single flower on each of the bouquets were in full bloom. When my dad had put them there, they were not in full bloom.

Oh my god.

And that's wild.

That's It's like freaky but beautiful.

Beautiful. Yeah. We saw this as them all welcoming my great uncle to the other side and I really do believe your podcast helps thin the veil sometimes. I feel lucky as I do believe my loved ones who have passed protect me from the scarier things on the other side. When I was a child, whenever someone close to my family passed, I would feel as though

9:00

someone would sit on the end of my bed watching me for weeks after. My mom's best friend will also leave change for me to find from time to time and say hi around especially hard or important times in life. I found a new 10 cents outside my apartment door every day for 2 weeks around the time of my wedding in the same exact spot each time.

Yeah, that's great.

Damn.

You got a whole like dollar and a half.

yeah.

[laughter]

I firmly believe that all of my family have protected me from the Hinsdale House part one episode because I truly had a sudden extreme nausea while listening to that entire episode. And when I tried to listen the second time, I happened again, so I gave up. But anyway, love and light, Isabel.

Isabel, thank you so much for sharing your families story and also Ouija board. It's an incredible artifact.

It's the coolest gift we've ever received. Thank you.

It's awesome. And now knowing too that like most likely for over 100 years or close to 100 years

Yeah.

people have been playing it.

And using it to contact soldiers who died in World War I and World War II.

10:00

Like that is the height of the spiritualist movement.

Right.

But also kind of proof that how you play and who you play with matters

Yeah.

when creating or avoiding cre- creating a haunted object.

I would love to

of people say like Ouija boards are not scary. But like it's about how you use them. It's about like the way you close it out and the intention and everything. And she's saying that no one in her family

has had bad vibes.

Yeah.

Nope.

Or had hauntings from it.

Mary knew what she was doing.

Mary, Mary

on the wall you're the fairest of them all.

We love you, Mary.

We love you, Mary.

You can haunt us.

[laughter]

Myrtle's Plantation ghost photo

Okay, well, I have a story from our listener Cara.

Hello my ghostly gals. I've been

12:00

listening to you for a few years now. I work from home and your voices are basically my co-workers during my day where my kiddos and my husband are off at work and school. You keep me company and my workday more fun. I actually have a ton of stories myself. I grew up in a very haunted house, but I'll save those another time. In the meantime, I wanted to share something pretty creepy from a co-worker of mine who is just as ghostly minded as I am. Ooh, love it. This past summer, he and his family stayed at Myrtles Plantation in Louisiana.

He had got some dark history.

Very. Actually, I have two stories from there. Yeah. He, his wife, and their two sons spent the night in the carriage house. And also, Myrtles Plantation is where the infamous ghost photo was captured, which we did cover Myrtles Plantation on a previous episode and shared that.

Mhm, the little girl.

And she's wearing like a little white bonnet or something like that. He, his wife, and their two sons spent the night in the carriage house. One day, while they were chatting about creepy experiences, he sent me some

13:00

pictures from their trip. In one of the photos, I asked him, "Is that a statue there to the right of the tree?" He replied, "No, nothing's there." But that immediately caught my attention. I asked, "Were there any other people there?" He said, "There were no living beings on the property at that time." I asked again if he'd seen anything. He said he didn't see anything at the time. However, he did say that they felt like they were there were definitely entities around when they were staying there. A couple weeks later, I asked if he would mind sharing the picture with me and if I shared it with you all and he enthusiastically said, "Yes." Yay! I've honestly never seen a picture of something that appears this clearly. With love, Cara.

Which is so crazy that he was like, "No, no one's there. I didn't see anything."

And there's it looks like a full-on person walking. Oh my gosh. Whoa.

It fully looks like

person, too. Like I bet they are like 6'3, 6'4.

Is it bad that my brain goes to it's like beneath the tree?

Oh.

Is it not actually that tall, but is it a hanging tree?

14:00

Oh. Well, I mean, given the history of this plantation, it's not a far-off guess.

Ugh. Well, then also even just looking up trying to find the picture of the little girl, there's so many pictures and I'm like, I can't remember which one's the famous one cuz there's

Oh.

There There are a lot.

There's a group of women who like took a selfie and then there's a picture of a woman in the window, but then there's this like black and white photo with a little girl standing by like the pillars.

okay.

There's so many.

I guess there are So, I think I was combining two. There's the woman the woman in the window

Yeah.

and then the little girl standing by the pillars, I think are the most famous two from Myrtles Plantation.

Wow. That's wild to be like, "Yeah, I don't think that anyone was there. I didn't see anyone, but we felt presences everywhere."

And also it kind of sounds like he didn't even notice it in the photo at first.

Right.

Like Cara had to point it out.

Um wow, okay. Well, I feel like we could do a whole Encounters episode just from the plantations in this house.

15:00

Absolutely.

It's so tragic.

It's a really hor- horrible history.

But obviously they're so haunted because of such heavy history.

Well, and also like all of the places we're going to talk about are dark and heavy and atrocious and that is kind of what the theme is. It's like where horrific acts happened to people, created this energy, created the stain, and there's a lot of energy and feelings and vibrations and outward ghost photos captured yes here.

Okay, well my next one I picked I tried to like go global with this.

Hmm.

And I wondered into Australia. Just took a little trip.

Down under.

Actually that's the trip I want to do next year. I think I'm going to do that too.

yeah. A winter trip to their summer.

Mhm. Get out of this freaking cold on the East Coast. [laughter]

haunted Australian quarantine station

Okay, so this is from our listener Mika or Mika, I'm not sure how to pronounce it. Mika, I'm going to say Mika. It's called Haunted Stories from Sydney, Australia the orb at the quarantine station.

Hmm.

Hi there ghouls. I hope this email finds

16:00

you well. My name is Mika and I'm a recent fan of your podcast and my sister who is a long time listener and mega fan of creepy stories introduced me to your show. Love that.

Shoutout to your sister.

Mhm.

Whatever her name is cuz we don't know we don't know.

From a young age my sister and I have had a strong connection to the supernatural and been drawn to ghoulish and gothic themes.

I love that describing something as ghoulish.

Ghoulish.

Like what are you into? Ghoulish.

It is very like old-timey.

Yeah.

This whole episode [laughter] is ghoulish.

That's how I'm going to start describing our podcast when people ask me what it's about. I'm going to say it's a ghoulish podcast.

Let's bring back the word ghoulish. Let's use it more often. Petition

it.

to use it more. Our childhood was a bit unconventional as we grew up partially on a property that had an old colonial cemetery from the 1700s on it. But this never phased us. We often played freely among the gravestones and for us the supernatural had never been something to fear. However, we have had experiences that have truly scared us and left us with an eerie feeling that still lingers

17:00

to this day. Notably, both of these experiences occurred separately but at the same location. So we live in Australia, specifically in a coastal region of Sydney, New South Wales. And we've encountered some intriguing experiences at one of the most haunted places in the area, the Quarantine Station in Manly, New South Wales. So, as context, the Quarantine Station was used during the early settlement of Sydney from the 1800s to the 1980s to quarantine newly arriving migrants. Which is

Yeah. Prisoners, but also kind of a genius move just to have people who are traveling at the time that you're not really sure like what diseases or like what things could be brought over. Be like, let's just do a polite quarantine.

Yeah, I don't know how polite it would be, but

[laughter]

many people passed through the station and sadly, some of them never made it out, especially during outbreaks of smallpox and Spanish flu. So, during those times, a lot of people who entered this facility did die in severe pain.

18:00

Oh,

[sighs and gasps]

that's terrible.

For additional context, the early settlers couldn't have chosen a more fitting spot for the station because prior to settlement, this area was believed to be inhabited by numerous nature spirits. The particular

kind of scare me cuz I feel like it's like ancient stories are all over the place with what people experience and I they're unpredictable, very.

This particular peninsula is known as North Head. So, not only is this place haunted by the spirits of those who died in the Quarantine Station, but also likely haunted by ancient land spirits.

Damn.

Unfortunately, due to history, we don't know much about the traditional owners or their stories. Our knowledge is limited to what is known post settlement. But anyway, that's a lot of context, but I think important to share about the story about my sister's visit to this place when she was in primary school at the young age of 11 years old. She was on a school trip, going on a tour with her entire class. And as a part of their history class, they included some spooky elements that added

19:00

to the experience. But during the tour, they visited the shower block where nurses would watch the patients and force them to shower with harsh chemicals. They also toured the morgue and the sterilization area as the hospital was situated on top of a hill, which is said to be haunted by a scary nurse. Finally, the class sat down to either lunch on the bridge walkway next to the hospital. My sister was so excited to pull out her lunch which she had packed herself. A great lunch with biscuits topped with sprinkles, a real treat since she rarely got to have sweets. However, when she took a bite, she was overwhelmed by the taste of ash. Like her mouth was thick and dry leaving her feeling unwell. The entire day all she could smell and taste was ash with an unexpected pungent flavor of onion. Afterwards, they continued the tour and the guide led them around the corner to these massive structures. The tour guide asked the class, "What do you think these structures were used for?" Instinctively, my sister blurted out in front of everyone, "That's where they burn the bodies."

20:00

It turned out she was correct. Those structures were in fact used to cremate bodies of those who had died from illnesses in earlier days. But at 11 years old, my sister had no prior of that information. And so in retrospect, we think maybe she had some clairvoyant experience. I don't know.

the ash.

Yeah. Which is also

channeling this information.

How devastating. You wanted some sweet biscuits and you

Right.

thick ash.

Which like her talking about the biscuits with the sprinkles reminded me and we need all all of our Australian listeners to chime in here. I saw a video the other day that said one of their like school treats and one of their childhood treats that everyone loves appeared to me like someone's just taking a slice of white bread and shoving some rainbow sprinkles on it.

Huh.

So please chime in and either explain what it is or explain yourself cuz that just

[laughter]

Hey. Maybe we just got to try it.

Maybe. That's what the people said about Vegemite.

I've never tried it.

Not good.

Yeah, but people say that about our

21:00

mayo. Our mayo is kind of icky.

Our mayo is gross. Where's the good stuff?

No, I'm I'm saying like mayo in general. That's not like a

[laughter]

Oh, really? What are they mayo? There's excellent mayo somewhere? I'm down to try all the mayos of the world.

Okay. So, Micah says, "Years later, I visited the quarantine station for a high school trip. I would have been 15 at the time, and I had spent a fair amount of time at this place. It's a staple for all the schools in the area. So, this was likely my second or third school visit. Safe to say, I was pretty familiar with the stories and the ghosts that supposedly haunt the place. However, I had never seen anything unusual, and even though I considered intuitive, I wasn't scared or and I didn't feel anything particularly strange. Just the usual creepiness one might feel in a place like this.

Yeah.

My class and I had nearly reached the end of the tour, but that entire day felt off. I can't explain why, but the moment we arrived at North Head and the quarantine station, I developed a serious headache. Which wasn't totally unusual for me because I often get migraines, but this

22:00

one was out of this world. We toured the cemetery that sat on the cliff the peninsula overlooking the Sydney Harbor. And besides the fact that we were in an actual cemetery, that view is incredible. In the cemetery, all I could feel with this was this relentless headache. It continued through the tour until we reached the bottom of the quarantine station. We entered the room dubbed the bag sterilization room, which is pretty self-explanatory, but was interestingly located right next to the acid shower block and the Spanish flu room. The Spanish flu room was a small, poorly ventilated space where patients were placed numerous times a day. In this room, nurses and doctors would pump herbs and other chemicals into this sauna-like room in an attempt to purify those affected with the disease.

Mhm.

Which as you can imagine must have been pretty torturous for already sick people, especially in Australia where temperatures can soar up to 40° C or 104° F in peak summer. Unsurprisingly, this treatment did very little to combat the spread of the disease.

Yeah.

And these rooms, the Spanish flu room and showers, are considered to be the

23:00

most haunted places in this entire station. As I was standing between the two in the bag sterilization room and the Spanish flu room, our class had to do some sort of presentation. I can't remember the details to be honest cuz I wasn't paying attention due to the intense migraine that was numbing my mind. But it was getting worse and worse in this stuffy room. But here's where it gets strange. The headache I had been experiencing all day, one that felt like it was literally numbing my brain, suddenly stopped as my group got up to present. I remember standing there, looking in front of me, standing next to my classmate, and all of the sudden, completely clear-headed. And that is when I noticed something forming in the corner of my eye. At first I thought I was going crazy or about to faint because a small orb of light began to grow. It continued to expand until it filled my entire vision, and this light was so bright and white it was practically blinding. Honestly, every time I try to tell this story and I mention this light, it's hard because it's unlike anything a human could ever recreate. It took up my entire field of vision. It was enormous and brilliant. And as quickly as it

24:00

appeared, it zipped past my face out through the door. When I regained my eyesight after witnessing it, I looked around, and my entire class was unfazed. They had seen nothing. This light had engulfed the entire room to me. How had no one else seen it?

Well, and also it'd be one thing if like that happened and then you fainted. And then that's like, okay, well that was on you. But like for the headache to go away, experience this and then still be exactly the way you are after to the point that you can start looking around and be like, no one else just saw that?

Right. Well, also I thought cuz it's very similar to like an aura migraine where like the aura kind of takes over, but it's it's like there was an entity almost inside of her causing the headache,

Mhm.

and then it just left her and she saw it leave and her headache disappeared. So, I thought for sure I was losing my mind or suffering from dehydration, but then I instinctively whispered to my classmate next to me. I asked, "Did you see that?" And she said, "Yep." Her face was in shock when I looked at her. Her skin nearly translucent as if she had seen an actual ghost, which in

25:00

fact I think we both had. When we left that room, I went around one by one to the girls in my class and asked if they had also seen the light. It turned out my classmate and I were not the only ones who had seen it. All the girls who witnessed it were positioned in the same direction and same angle as my classmate and I. And so yeah, we all had seen it, but no one addressed it. This experience was

That's kind of crazy that everyone appeared to be so normal after, too. Like you're not catching someone else's eye being like or no one's like gasping out loud.

Yeah. I feel like if that happened to me, there's no way I'm not like, "What the fuck?" Like hitting whoever's next to me.

I know.

Not just standing there quietly listening. Eyes ahead.

But yeah, that's my story. I found it very interesting. It has so much history in that place.

Just a light possession.

If you ever visit, maybe my sister and I can give you a tour of the quarantine station. We both love your podcast so much. Love you guys. I'll see you on the other side.

that you just got possessed in?

[laughter]

I I mean it was just a headache.

26:00

At least it didn't like make you do things that you didn't want to do.

true.

Or I do wonder if I try to add some like symbolism to the experience, too. I'm curious if the headache was basically like the spirit trying to represent how bad they felt.

Oh.

And then perhaps they did die in that room and it was like and that's when they were released and the pain was gone.

That's so sad.

Mhm.

But I feel like this happens a lot like at historic places where there's some sort of like messaging or like the spirits are giving visitors the feelings

of what they went through. Yeah, that's true. I get it. If you're like stuck there in this place where you died.

Yeah.

And also it's so sad like these people are traveling probably like such long distances to get to Australia. Like Australia is not easy to get to today let alone back then. And you don't see outside of a quarantine station ever. You just die there.

Yeah.

It's very sad. But, also no surprise that it's haunted.

Right.

The Absorption Company

I have been taking supplements for a really long time, but I just learned

27:00

that so many supplements actually don't absorb into your body, and that is why the absorption company is bringing a science-first approach to the supplement industry. The absorption company is singularly focused on solving the biggest problem in supplements, low absorption. So, most supplements absorb less than 16%, meaning over 84% of the supplements we take are completely wasted. Completely wasted. The absorption company uses cutting-edge technologies to make supplements with pharmaceutical-grade absorption up to 149 times better than standard supplements. And I have been really focused on taking magnesium supplements with the absorption company, cuz magnesium supports over 300 bodily functions, better sleep, muscle recovery, regulates your stress and your mood, and so much more. So, start taking supplements that your body can actually absorb. Go to absorbmore.com and enter for up to 35% off your first order. That's absorbmore.com

dreams of the Holocaust

Okay, well, I have a story called Ghost Story Dreams and the Holocaust.

Oh, another really disturbing part of our history.

Yeah. And this is from Sakara. I just started listening to your podcast and I'm starting from old to new, and I just got to episode six where you're talking about reincarnation, and there's someone that has dreams about the Holocaust. I'll start with the fact that even when I was little, I felt a draw to the Holocaust. I was also very sensitive to energies and ghostly activity, but that will be important later. I had a high reading level, so in the first grade I was reading Night by Oh, my god.

But, by who?

Night by Elie Wiesel, but I feel like that is not

I don't know what that book is.

a first grade book.

Night

It's a Holocaust book, isn't it? I swear I had to read that.

Yeah, it's a memoir. Oh, wow. Okay, yeah, it's definitely

Yep.

Like it's a high school read.

Yeah, like I don't I never read it, but

29:00

yeah.

middle school or like

young, you're not you probably aren't reading this.

This was a first grade read.

Okay, for Sekora. I was reading Coraline, which is also a little questionable, [laughter] but

Yeah. She should have been reading The Magic Tree House.

Yeah.

But she's [laughter and clears throat] reading a memoir about the Holocaust instead.

Mhm.

I was also reading so many other books about the Holocaust. I never had dreams until I was about 10. We lived in Florida at the time and we had gone to Tampa for my birthday trip. While we were there, we went to a Holocaust Museum. It was very big, but I remember the sheer panic I felt at some of the items and things that were in there,

Mhm.

which I didn't really think much of at the time, but now I do. I had my first dream a week or so later. In my dream, I was in the Netherlands somewhere and I was on a train and someone that was apparently my best friend had died next to me.

Oh, it's so sad.

That was when I woke up crying and my dreams started being in chronological order. I got to the next place. I was separated into one of two lines.

30:00

Then I was sent with a bunch of other women to one side of a concentration camp. The last dream I have in this story is getting ordered to stand up out of our bunks early one morning and slowly my hearing goes out and I feel a sharp pain starting through my body and I feel very scared. I wake myself up every time, but every time I have that dream, I feel the sting and the pain of death. Fast forward about 2 years later and I'm living in Ohio. I forget about this trip to Tampa for the most part. There's an Air Force Museum near my house, so I would go quite a bit. In between the World War I and the World War II sections, there was a small hallway of Holocaust exhibits. One day, my dad and I go to a concert that they had there and we left early since it was a school night for me. There was a canine memorial on the hallway that ran through the entire museum. I found that a little bit boring, so I just kept walking down the hall that had the Holocaust information. My dad's looking at the canine memorial. I'm wandering further down the hallway, and I observe the exhibits, and then I felt an absolute chill. It dropped

31:00

easily 15°. My heart dropped, and then I heard a voice behind me, and I couldn't bring myself to turn around yet. But it said, "Go away, Sakara. You don't belong here anymore."

Chills.

Oh my gosh.

Bro, what?

Oh.

So I turned around, and there, in front of me, is a full-body apparition.

Oh, the combination. Having both.

And it was one of the girls from my dreams. One of the girls that was in the same barracks as me.

Oh.

calmly walking towards my dad when she said something in what I now recognize to be Dutch. I don't know what any of this means or if I'm just really sensitive to paranormal activity or something, but I'm 18 now. I'm almost fluent in Dutch, but no one believes me when I tell them this story.

We believe you.

And then she adds, "But I figured you would."

Absolutely. [laughter] You figured correctly.

From Sakara.

Damn. Well, now I'm just curious if this girl who she knew in a past life is a guardian angel in this life, you know?

32:00

Mhm. Mhm.

Oh, that's so nice.

like you have to be so hyper-connected to the other souls who experienced something like that with you.

Yeah.

That if they haven't been reincarnated or like something like I feel like it is almost like a watchful thing where it's like

Watch each other. Yeah, protect one another.

Yeah.

Gosh. Oh my gosh, this just reminds me of the movie Life Is Beautiful.

It? What is that one?

Wrecked me.

Life Is Beautiful.

Oh. It's such an incredible movie, but it is it's just devastating. It's all about the Holocaust.

Oh.

It's such a good movie.

I can't handle Holocaust movies. I've seen a couple and I just

No, they're so hard to watch. What I am very excited for

List and The Boy in the Striped Pajamas and that was I was like

That's it.

Yeah. I know what happened. I know what people experienced. I can't do this.

You know what I am excited for is the Fannings are going to be in What's that movie?

Oh, this is their first movie together.

33:00

And it's a World War II, The Nightingale. Mhm. Oh, I'm excited about that. I I can do those types of movie I mean I I watch them all but they wreck me. Even that one's going to wreck me.

Yeah.

But I love historical.

Yeah.

I I prefer historical fiction.

But yeah.

Yeah.

And this is like, you know, we're far enough away removed that it's almost been a hundred years. Isn't that crazy?

It's been like eighty some years.

Yeah.

Also sad cuz like the survivors of it we don't have many of them left.

Mhm.

Cuz it's been so long. Okay, yeah.

That's also I feel that way about like 9/11 movies and stories.

Yeah, I can't.

Yeah.

I don't want to hear the voicemail. I don't want to hear the letters that the kids are reading their parents.

makes me want to sob.

Yeah. I'm going to start crying right now, too. Okay, well, let's talk about another past life story.

Okay. [laughter]

We're going to go back even further.

Woo.

Actually, we're going to go back to the same time. Oh, no. World War I.

Too further.

You're You're crying. Erin's crying.

[snorts]

I'm fine.

Look Look at the light.

my creepy kid’s WW1 past life

This is from our listener Christine and it is called past life of one of my creepy kids from World War I. Hello. I hope this finds you well as well as everyone else in your lives. I'm writing this after listening to Encounters 281 where you talk about proof of past lives. Um I shared during campfire stories last April about my creepy daughter Audrey predicting her little brother's birth date. Well, her little brother is just as creepy. He said something during his bath when he was probably somewhere between 4 and 6 years old that really solidified creepy kid for him for [laughter] me.

Why does it always happen at bath and bedtime?

Right. I feel like all the stories are just like we're getting ready so it's like right when you're about to part from your child and then they say the

36:00

drop like the creepiest thing and you're like what? And then you're just left to sit there.

Yeah, I was like peacefully

peacefully go to sleep. You're just

[laughter]

The sound machine's going. You're just sitting in the dark next to their bed. You're like, what the [ __ ] just happened?

Okay, so my little man started talking about how he was a soldier and died from being shot. He's four. I'm like, what? I asked a lot of questions, but again, I don't remember many of the questions or much more. I don't think he said much more. But I asked him very recently if he remembered this conversation and he said, "I don't know. I was probably lying." But here's the thing. We named my son after one of my Irish great-grandfathers. A variation of his surname being my son's first name and my great-grandpa's first name being my son's middle name. About 2 years ago, I was told by my mother that two of my great-grandfather's nephews, one the son of my great-grandfather's brother who had moved to Scotland and the other being the son of my great-grandfather's sister

Okay, so two great-uncles who are don't have the same dad.

37:00

Correct.

Got it.

They had moved to New York City. They both fought in France during World War I. And they had actually met each other in France and figured out they were first cousins. Sadly, both of them died during World War I. After my mom told me this, I did some research and found both of their records. The one who was from Scotland, who had the same surname as my great-grandpa, whose name was Bernard, his death is listed as died of wounds.

Okay. So we don't know if he was shot, if he

Yeah.

if there was a grenade, if he slipped and

Right.

broke his leg and died of sepsis, he fell out of a helicopter.

Yeah. Wounds. But here's the thing is that his name is what I had considered naming my son. But didn't.

Wow.

Anyway, leaves me wondering if this cousin of mine came back as my son in some capacity. Thanks for listening. See you on the other side. Christine.

I feel like totally because I there's so many I feel like within the family there's a lot of reincarnation

38:00

100%.

happen.

Someone told me that I was reincarnated as a friend of my great-grandfather's who they fought together in one of the wars together and that my name was Sam. And people call me Sam all the time accidentally.

to say.

They call me Samantha or Sam, but yeah. You I've even had therapists call me Sam.

Which is so weird cuz like I don't think you look like a Sam. Like

I guess like SA but like it's not that similar.

But a three letter

[laughter]

name versus Sabrina?

I definitely think I I definitely think I was a man in a past life. I think I have some feminine past life too, but I like there's there's some like male energy running through my bones

Mhm.

that I feel.

Was this a past life reading you had done or just someone

No, this was one of our listeners. I think we talked about her a while back. She had like sent me like all these voice notes and was talking about my grandmother, my great grandmother and like giving me information that was so spot-on and accurate.

Can you do that for me?

I know.

Please. Although I don't know. I feel

39:00

like maybe I'm more blocked off. I feel like you get a lot of messages where people are picking up on you and your energy.

the thing. I think that's also Elisa has said this when she does like my chart our chart reading. She's like, "You give off this energy where people project onto you and think they're picking up from your energy, but it's like them projecting onto you because of who like the energy you put out."

Mhm.

Some people think which it adds a like air of mystique to me, I think. But you think I'm thinking one thing.

Sabrina? Are you reading yourself?

I'm a mirror.

Ah.

Oh.

That's a form of therapy. Just stand there let people just word vomit.

See what comes out.

Stare into my eyes. I dare you.

Dang. That is really interesting though. I am curious I mean obviously your son doesn't remember anything now because he's like, "I don't know. I'm a small child."

Yeah, he was like, "I was like Yeah. That's how I feel [clears throat] about my brother whenever we talk about him being a creepy kid. He's like, "I don't remember. It wasn't me. Wasn't true." It's like, "Hello. Okay. Just cuz you don't remember it doesn't mean it

40:00

didn't happen."

Come on Graham. Okay, I have another

Myrtle's Plantation ghost in the window photo

Myrtles Plantation email and it comes with a photo again cuz Myrtles Plantation paranormal activity caught on camera constantly.

I just fist bumped. That's how excited I was.

[laughter]

Jim 10 laundry.

Woohoo.

Hi Sabrina and Karen. My name is Lilly and I have had many paranormal experiences, but these two are my favorite. So much of my family is from Louisiana and they are very big believers. My aunt Sherry and I are both very sensitive to the spirit world as is my mom and so the three of us love to talk and seek out the paranormal. Aunt Sherry brought us to Myrtles Plantation and it is by far the most haunted place I have ever been.

Yep.

Myrtles has thick history so I won't walk through all of it here or we would be here forever. What episode did we do it on? Let's see.

Yeah. Plantation, two girls, one ghost. Let's see how well we labeled this episode.

Back when we considered nothing about searchability.

41:00

I'm going to say it's not coming up. [laughter] Um we're going to have to search our actual Excel.

I wonder if we didn't do a full Myrtles episode if it was just one of those like ghost caught on camera and we shared some pictures from it.

But it should come up cuz it would we should have put it in the description but we didn't.

Should have. [snorts]

There are a lot of things we should have done and we didn't do.

Yeah. Okay, well we're going to get brief history right here.

Okay, a little recap on the history and tragedies that occurred within the property of Myrtles. The house was built in 1777 by a man named General Bradford. The house was later owned by the Woodruff family. Clark Woodruff and his wife Sarah Matilda resided there with their three children, Cornelia, James, and Octavia. God, I love names like that. In 1823, Sarah Matilda died of yellow fever in the house. A year We must have done the history cuz I feel like I know all this.

Yeah.

I don't I don't know. Maybe we'll redo it.

[laughter]

A year after her death, their son James died of yellow fever and two months after his death, Clark and Sarah

42:00

Matilda's oldest daughter Cornelia met the same fate as her brother and mother. Clark's mother-in-law Elizabeth lived with Clark and Octavia to help care for Clark's last living child. Elizabeth also died in the house. This marks four deaths so far. The home was sold to Ruffin Gray Sterling and his wife Mary Catherine after Clark Woodruff moved in with Octavia and her husband in his old age. The Sterling family was a very wealthy family and they started a renovation on the house. Of the nine Sterling children, only four made it into adulthood.

Very sad, but also very common of that time.

Yeah. Four years after the renovation, Ruffin Gray Sterling died of tuberculosis. The same year that Ruffin died, their oldest son Lewis also lost his life. Ruffin Sterling's wife Mary Cobb later died in the home. So the death count is high, but for dying in the house, the death count is seven or like on the property.

Well, this is also of like the family members. We're not We're not even talking about

the slavery.

and everything that's going on there.

Right. This is just owners of the

43:00

plantation.

Arguably the least important people

Yeah, agreed.

story. Before the death of Mary Cobb, she hired William Winter, the husband of her late daughter Sarah. The home was then passed on to William and Sarah after Mary died. They had six children and their daughter Kate died at the age of three from typhoid. The Winter family later went bankrupt and after the Civil War, William was shot dead on the porch by an unknown man on horseback.

Jeez.

William climbed up the 17th step and died in his wife's arms. William's oldest son Harry drowned in the Mississippi River. So of the recorded deaths of the family members on the property, the death toll is 10.

It's a lot.

Anyway, here's what you've been waiting for, my stories. The first one is a photo we took. It was our first time at Myrtles and my mom wanted all of us cousins to sit along a small fountain. All parents are there just taking photos, so six phones in total, an abundance of angles, and this is the only photo that these little faces showed themselves in. Zoom in on the door behind the two girls to the right.

44:00

Okay.

I'm zooming in. Is the second photo it?

Oh, the

zoomed in?

Yeah.

Ooh.

So we'll just look at the zoomed in one so that we can all see.

Oh, okay.

It very clearly looks like a face, doesn't it?

Yeah. Smiling.

Like I know pareidolia is that it doily I can never say it.

Pareidolia, yeah I know. Is it pareidoya or pareidolia?

I think it's pareidolia. Yeah. It's the I it's the thing that our brains are trained to see pattern recognition in faces.

Yes, yes.

We see faces when maybe they aren't actually there.

You know what it looks like to me? It looks like a marionette doll.

Interesting. Yeah, it kind of looks like there there's something in the window so it's like behind the object that's in the window. And then you can see like the nose, the cheekbones, the eyes.

Mhm.

And it does look like it's smiling.

It does. But I was thinking like a little marionette doll or like a little clown doll or something because there's a like 6 in above what looks like the head, there's just a white ball. And I was thinking a pom pom on top of that.

45:00

[laughter]

See, I was seeing that that is something like from inside the house.

Mhm.

But it could be.

Yeah, I don't know.

We don't know.

[laughter]

Wow.

Okay, the second story I have is about my second trip to Myrtles. This was July of 2025. I was wearing a skirt that hits my ankles and it has an elastic waistband. And this is kind of an important detail, I swear. But I had become friends with the ghost tour guide, shout out Charles.

Cool.

And there were so many people on the tour with us. We were all in a room that used to hold seances. And Charles asked if I wanted to hold a doll that belonged to Kate, the little girl who died of typhoid in the house.

Mhm.

I said yes and he handed me this small porcelain doll. I remember running my fingers over her little face and smoothing the fabric of her dress. As everyone started wandering to the next room, I asked Charles if I could linger behind a little bit. There was a beautiful mirror, I wanted to take a picture of it but I couldn't get a photo without a stranger in the background. He said that was fine and before I knew it, I was alone in the room where the seances were held. I snap a photo of the mirror and as I turn around, my skirt

46:00

gets yanked.

[gasps]

I scream, I run to my mom, and everyone is staring at me, and I just word vomited saying, "Something pulled my skirt." over and over. "Something pulled my skirt." Looking back, I think that maybe this was Kate. I'd been holding her doll, and as someone who works in an after-school program with 4-year-olds, I felt like this was probably just a kid trying to get my attention.

It does feel very like childish, like yanking.

like can I have it back?

Yeah. Give me my doll.

Mhm. See you on the other side.

Lilly.

Wait, well this mirror is stunning.

It is. It's very

I understand wanting to get a picture of it, and especially that crown molding, and like the pink, and yeah, it's beautiful.

Wow.

Okay, well now I'm curious what the porcelain doll looked like, and if you can go back, Lilly, to the picture in the window, and if it looks anything like the doll, cuz now I'm like

to the doll, not Kate.

Well, no, I'm like, is Kate just like holding up the doll out the window?

Like I think of like, I mean, I know Noah's like two.

Yeah.

47:00

And not four, [clears throat] but like Shrek

puppy dog

everyone's staring out the window.

They're yeah.

He holds like the animals by their hands and has them like when he does crayons and stuff, like he doesn't color.

the

Shrek's hand is holding a crayon, and then he's I keep saying Shrek, it's the Grinch.

[laughter]

They're both green.

They're green. But like he he makes every all of his animals do the things.

That's very cute.

I feel like that's like she could be playing, like now they're outside, now they're doing this.

Yeah.

I don't know. I'm curious.

There's lots of ghosts there. It could be so many different people.

Yeah.

tower of London

Okay, I have one to end the regular feed episode on and then Karen, you have a bonus story that we'll read on Patreon.

I do.

But it wouldn't be a history episode without me trying to find a story from

49:00

the Tower of London. It was [laughter] actually the first thing that I searched when I when we were preparing for this episode.

sense.

Cuz I love the Tower of London. I love the history there. And this is paranormal, but it's funny.

Oh.

Yeah. It's paranormal adjacent. It was just a delightful story that I wanted to read personally and so you all get to read it here, too.

the this is the episode to read it in. And it could be to end the episode for those who are not on Patreon.

Yeah. It's from our listener Catriona and it is called Bitten by a Raven at the Tower of London. Is that not the most like Tower of London story?

That is.

Hello Ghostesses. Thank you for all the fun episodes and stories. I was just listening to the Tower of London two-parter, which was amazing and I thought I would share a couple of stories from my visit when I was barely a teenager and my experience at the Imperial War Museum, which used to be part of Bedlam Asylum. So, my aunt and uncle and their family lived in Surrey just outside of London when I was a kid, and so we had several trips down there when we saw the sights. The tower is

50:00

amazing and awe-inspiring even as a kid. As you suggested in the episode, you can truly just feel the energy. My only real experience at the tower was smelling smoke in one of the rooms in which Sir Walter Raleigh Raleigh Raleigh apparently haunts. And my grandfather told me he was an infamous smoker. The only other experience I had there was not so much ghostly as more of just a fun story to tell. So, at the time the tower had these water fountains around and about, and as I went to get a drink, there was a raven taking interest in what I was doing. Like it literally hopped up onto the fountain basin as I was taking a drink from the fountain. And then I started pecking at the spout, so I turned the water back on for him so he could drink it. He was still interested in the water after it stopped, so I went to go turn it on again, at which point he jabbed my arm sharply with his beak and climbed up onto the spout where he'd reach the button himself and then proceeded to get his own drink, so he never needed me at all.

[laughter]

I swear the nearby Beefeater

fully laughed at me. Isn't that amazing?

They're so freaking smart.

51:00

They're so smart.

It's unbelievable. I actually was thinking the other day, I was like, are are the neighborhood crows here trying to befriend me because I keep finding pieces of

They're giving you gifts?

near my sidewalk and around my yard. I continue to find pieces of glass, but it's like an old It's like It's like sea glass. Like it's old, it's not sharp. And I find them

envious.

And it will be somewhere that like I would just was. Like I just did a bunch of planting in the front, and then suddenly there's like a piece of glass sitting there, and I keep finding them. I keep throwing them away cuz like

Do your cameras pick anything up?

No, cuz it doesn't pick up like animals or anything, which I'm upset about.

Change the setting.

I've tried because there's a bunch of deer that are eating my hostas, and I want to look at the deer. I just don't have another explanation for why I keep getting It's the It's the crows. Kind of shiny old glass.

I need to stop thinking about it because I'm so envious. Like I I need to give back.

It's one of those things where you're not actively trying and I actively try

52:00

and then they're just like [laughter] no thanks.

Well, I did once dump like a gallon of peanuts around trying to befriend them last year.

Okay.

Yeah.

But it was a one-time dump.

Well, maybe they really like the plants that you're planting.

Maybe they do.

Yeah. Okay. Hmm. I love that.

favorite color is the same as now is purple. Purple. Purple.

Catriona wrote that at the time it really did sting, but now I'm realizing how hilarious it is and how intelligent these birds are.

They really are.

They so are. Okay. Last story is I'm not sure if it was the same trip or another one, but we went to the Imperial War Museum and while there I felt nauseous as soon as we went in like it felt like I was being closed in on. I brushed it off, but as we went through the trench exhibit it got worse and worse and I felt claustrophobic. Like there was wind rushing in my ears. I got snatches of voices and the like. My mom took me to the loos in hopes to try to ease my feeling and it seemed like it had, but as soon as we went back upstairs to the main floor I was hit by Well, now I know what a hurricane feels like, but it

53:00

feels similar. In a spectacularly embarrassing situation I promptly puked all over the floor in the main lobby of the museum

Wow.

and basically fell over. It wasn't until I was retelling the story to my current boyfriend that my mom goes, "Oh, I should have thought of it, but didn't realize how spiritually sensitive you were at the time, but that building used to be part of Bedlam Asylum. So, maybe all that psychic damage you were sensing." I just got gobsmacked. But yeah, that does make a lot of sense. We since moved to Florida a few years later, but my experiences have not stopped. See you on the other side, Catriona.

Wow. I mean all of the UK is so haunted.

So haunted. And you got bit by a raven at the Tower of London. Like how many people can say that? Not many, so

you turn into a witch?

Ah.

[sighs and gasps]

The origin story?

Bite me.

Spider-Man, you got bit by a spider. Why can't you get bit by a a raven?

raven. I love it.

That raven will never forget. If you ever see that raven again, I bet it will bite you again.

I

He'll be like, "Remember me?"

recently have been really like called to

54:00

adopt a pigeon. Like I really think

You should.

it needs to happen. I don't know how

how cute it is. The little sleepy pigeon when we were in Boston. I literally was like, "Oh, I wish people still kept them as pets." Like it's so cruel what we did to pigeons.

Well, it's been my like TikTok algorithm, so I feel like people are

Oh, really?

I'm getting a lot of people and I'm like

Like adopting street pigeons?

from the universe. Yeah, some people There was one who found like a wounded baby pigeon, took it in, and now it won't leave. Like it's it's their pet now. And then another person who took in like a wounded adult pigeon and it's like BFFs, so.

Aw. Well, you should.

I would love to.

I would except Leia loves to kill birds.

She only She She did kill one bird. Um which was also very shocking, but the way that but how the bird got into our home was very shocking, too. But she's only killed one bird.

[laughter]

It's not a good track record. She's encountered one bird and she killed it.

55:00

Yeah.

But I would be down I'd be down to be a pigeon keeper with you.

I like I really just want it to sit on my shoulder as we record the podcast. How fun would that be?

I'm serious.

No, me, too. Well, we could get a crow. We're close to crows and they're giving you gifts.

are giving me gifts because they're hanging out in my trees and then when I walk out they're like
